2 teaspoons olive oil 30g butter

For peppercorn onions, heat a medium frying pan over medium heat. Add onion, thyme, olive oil and butter. Cook, stirring occasionally, for about 15 minutes, or until softened. Add Peppercorn Sauce by Manu and bring to boil. Remove the pan from the heat.
Meanwhile, spread butter over both sides of sourdough slices.
Heat a char-grill pan over high heat. Cook the bread for 2 minutes, until charred. Remove.
Drizzle steaks with oil and season with salt. Heat a large frying pan over high heat. Cook the steaks, in batches, for 30 seconds on each side. Top with cheese and cook for a further 1 minute, or until cheese is melted and steak is cooked to your liking. Remove pan from the heat.
To assemble, spread half the bread with mayonnaise and top with rocket and steak. Spoon over peppercorn onions and top with remaining bread slices. Serve with French fries.
Manu’s Tip:
Ask your butcher to cut and pound beef porterhouse or New York steaks into minute steaks for you.

How to Make this Perfect Steak Sandwich With Cheese Sauce and Caramelized Onions
The guys at Food Steez are experts at dope sandwiches. Here, they take the traditional steak sandwich to a new level with homemade cheese sauce and caramelized onions.
Steak Sandwich with Cheese Sauce and Caramelized Onions
• 1 yellow onion, thinly sliced
• 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
• ¾ pound sirloin steak tips, cut into ½ inch pieces
• 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
• 1 tablespoon butter
• 2 tablespoons flour
• 1 cup milk
• 8 ounces Dubliner cheese, shredded
• ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
• 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
• Salt and pepper, to taste
• 2 sandwich rolls, sliced
For the sandwich, heat vegetable oil in a sauté pan over medium-low heat. Add onions, a pinch of salt, and cook (stirring occasionally) for 15-20 minutes until onions slowly turn brown and sweet. Meanwhile, in another pan, combine steak tips, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce over medium-high heat. Cook to desired doneness.
For The Cheese Sauce, in a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add flour, whisking constantly, until flour beings to darken and turn brown. Add milk, stirring constantly, and simmer until mixture thickens, about three minutes. Remove from heat, and add cheese, cayenne, and paprika. Salt and pepper to taste.
To assemble the sandwich, spread each side of each hoagie roll with some of the cheese sauce. Add caramelized onions, steak, and cover with remaining cheese sauce.

How to Make a Steak Sandwich With Onion Marmalade - Recipe in description
A classic, simple and hearty meal. Juicy rump steak, complemented with flavorful onion marmalade and cheese; if this doesn't satisfy your hunger, nothing will!
Makes 4 servings:
Preparation time: 25 minutes
4 small red onions (about 240 g)
2 tablespoons of olive oil
1 tablespoons of sugar
1 teaspoon of salt
3 tablespoons of red wine vinegar, pepper
4 rump steaks at around 180g salt
1-2 baguettes
Mayonnaise
Butter for frying
Remove the steaks from the refrigerator. Peel the onions, split them in half and cut into strips. Heat the oil in a small saucepan and sauté the onions until translucent. Add the sugar, salt and red wine vinegar, reduce the heat, cover and let it simmer for about 30 minutes. Season with pepper.
Season the steaks with salt and pepper. Heat some butter in a pan. Bake steaks on both sides with high heat - depending on the desired cooking level and thickness of the meat - about 2-4 min. and wrap in aluminium foil. Cut up the baguette into 4 sandwiches and cut in half lengthwise. Spread the top with mayonnaise and the bottom with onion marmalade. Cut the steaks into thin slices and arrange on the bread. Close the sandwiches and enjoy.

INGREDIENTS :
*2 pounds of flank steak cut against grain into thin slices
* 2 bell peppers cut into bite size pieces
* 1 large onion
* 3 cloves of garlic minced 1/2 thumb size ginger minced
* 6 tablespoons oil (1/3 for marinade, 1/3 for stir frying of steak, 1/3 for stir frying vegetables)
* 1&1/2 tablespoon of honey
* 1/2 tablespoon chicken seasoning (substitute with all purpose seasoning)
* Pinch each of crushed black pepper for marinade, and slurry
* 1/2 cup of water
* 2 tablespoon of soy sauce (1/2 light and 1/2 dark)
* 3 tablespoons corn starch (1/2 for marinade, 1/2 for slurry)
Instructions
1. Marinate meat for 20-30 minutes prior to cooking.
2. Place skillet on medium heat, add oil, wait till oil is sizzling hot and place steak in batches,
spread out in pan for 2 minutes on each side, to obtain a sear/caramelization.
3. Transfer cooked steak to a bowl to stop cooking. Repeat this process till all steak is cooked.
4. Proceed with cooking vegetables in a wok by adding remaining oil to wok in high heat. Add
remaining garlic and ginger, crushed black pepper and salt, stir and cook for under 30
seconds. Add vegetables and cook to your preferred crunch/done-ess.
Notes: I cooked the vegetables not exceeding 1 minute. Add slurry (combination of water, corn starch, soy sauce, garlic and ginger), stir till thickened. Add cooked steak and stir to combine. Remove wok from heat and serve with rice.
