How To make Poppy & Sesame Seed Straws
2 tb Poppy seeds
2 tb Sesame seeds
1 lg Egg white
2 tb Olive oil
1/4 ts Salt
6 Phyllo dough sheets (14x18"
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Lightly coat 2 baking sheets with nonstick cooking spray or line with parchment paper. Heat a small heavy skillet over medium heat. Add the poppy and sesame seeds and cook, stirring until they are aromatic and toasted, 2 to 3 minutes. Turn out onto a plate to cool. In a small bowl, whisk together egg white, oil and salt. Lay a sheet of phyllo on a work surface with a short side toward you. With a pastry brush, lightly coat the lower half of the sheet with the egg-white mixture and sprinkle with 1 tsp. seeds. Fold the upper half over to cover the lower half. Brush the right half of the folded sheet with egg-white mixture, sprinkle with 1/4 tsp. seeds and fold the left half over the seeds. Brush the bottom half of the folded sheet with the egg-white mixture, sprinkle with 1/4 tsp. seeds and fold the upper half over. Finally, brush the top with the egg-white mixture and sprinkle with 1/4 tsp. seeds. Cut into 10 short strips using a knife or serrated pastry cutter. With a wide spatula, transfer the strips to the baking sheet, placing them about 1/2 inch apart. Repeat the procedure with the remaining 5 sheets of phyllo, egg-white mixture and seeds. Bake the straws for 8 to
10 minutes, until golden and crisp. Transfer to a rack to cool.
The straws may be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for 1 week or in the freezer for up to 2 months. Makes about 5 dozen straws. 19 calories per straw: 1 g protein, 1 g fat, 3 g carbohydrate; 23 mg

Ingredients:
pastry dough - 400 g (14 oz)

IN THE OVEN 180 °C (356 °F)/20 minutes
for the sauce:
butter - 30 g (1 oz)
flour - 25 g (0.9 oz)
beer - 200 ml (6.76 fl oz)
chili flakes - 5 g (0.18 oz)
salt - 3 g (0.11 oz)
pressed cheese - 100 g (3.5 oz)

3 ways to make bread even better.
1. Preheat oven to 375º. On a floured work surface, roll out crescent sheet. Brush with melted butter.
2. Using a pizza cutter or knife, make 6 to 8 slices. Top breadsticks with desired toppings. For Parmesan Garlic, sprinkle with garlic, parsley, and Parmesan. For Cheddar Chive, sprinkle with cheddar and chives. For Everything, sprinkle with minced garlic and onions, sesame seeds, poppy seeds, and salt.
3. Halve the dough. Twist each breadstick and transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet. Sprinkle with more toppings, if desired.
4. Bake until puffy and golden, 12 minutes.

1 tbsp. poppyseeds
1 tsp. kosher salt

Twists 5 different ways using puff pastry!
Twists are quick and simple,using frozen ready-rolled out puff pastry.
You will need:
1-2 sheets of puff pastry
1 egg (beaten)
2 tbs fresh thyme
2 tbs sesame seeds
2 tbs poppy seeds
2 tbs fine grated parmesan cheese
5-10 asparagus spears
5-6 prosciutto(cut in 3 length ways)
Lay 1 sheet of puff pastry( thawed out) on a table surface, cut ½ strips and brush with beaten egg.
Add toppings.
Start twisting them from both ends,
They might stretch out and become very long. Cut to fit on a baking sheet.
Bake in preheated to 415°F(210°C) for 10-15 min until dry and crispy.
Twists can be stored in a tights container for up to 5 days.
You can crisp them up again in the oven for 3-5 min if needed.
You can make also them sweet.
Add brown sugar and cinnamon or cardamom,sugar and crushed walnuts!
