How To make Poppyseed Bundt Cake
1 c Butter (or margarine)
1 1/2 c Sugar
2 1/2 c Flour (sift
-before measuring) 1 ts Baking soda
2 ts Baking powder
1 c Buttermilk
2 oz Poppy seeds
-(about 1/4 cup) 1 ts Almond extract
-(or vanilla extract) 4 Eggs (separated)
1/4 c Brown sugar
1 ts Cinnamon
Soak poppyseed in the buttermilk for 15 minutes. Cream together butter and sugar. Add yolks to creamed mixture. Add almond extract or vanilla. Add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk mixture, a little at a time. Beat egg whites very stiff as for angel food. Fold egg whites into mixture. Pour half of this batter mixture into well-greased Bundt pan. Sprinkle with a mixture of about 1/4 cup brown sugar and about 1 t cinnamon. Pour in remaining batter. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 1 hour. Cool and invert onto serving dish, then remove Bundt pan. NOTES: * A light, delicate cake -- I got this recipe from my mom. I'm not sure where she got it. * When folding in egg whites, be gentle. Lift and turn the batter instead of using a stirring motion. SUPER easy and fast one to make!!
1 box yellow cake mix
1 box instant vanilla pudding
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 Tbsp. poppy seeds
3/4 c. vegetable oil
4 eggs
1 c. hot water
1 tsp. almond extract
Mix dry ingredients; add oil. Blend in eggs, one at a time. Add hot water and extract. Bake in greased and floured Bundt pan at 300 degrees Fahrenheit for about 50 minutes.
Whoops, I over greased and floured mine and no matter how hard I banged that sucker, that flour and stuff was sticking, so I went with it. It did not affect the taste though. It was delicious and moist. If you really like almond flavor, you should bump up to 2 tsp. ... the flavor was soft and pleasant, just barely there.

The first video of the new year has to be a sweet treat.???? This Bundt cake is close to our all-time favorite pound cake in texture and flavor but with a lot fewer calories.
At the end of the day, working moms (like myself) and dads need a cup of tea or coffee and a big slice of this soft and buttery cake. YUM!????

Orange Poppy Seed Bundt Cake with orange glaze
orange poppy seed cake! so easy and yummy
Batter:
2 tablespoon poppy seeds
1/4 cup milk at room temperature
3 cups of cake flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 + 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 cup fresh orange juice
2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 + 1/4 cup unsalted butter at room temperature
1 tablespoon orange zest
1 + 3/4 cup granulated sugar
4 eggs at room temperature
for the orange glaze:
1 cup powder sugar
1 teaspoon orange zest
3 tablespoon fresh orange juice
how to make the cake flour:
add to a bowl : 3 cups all purpose flour
remove 6 tablespoon of all purpose flour from the bowl
add 6 tablespoon cornstarch to the all purpose flour
mix
sift this twice!
once you have sifted the flour 2 times
add:
2 + 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
mix and set aside
add 3/4 cup fresh orange juice and 2 teaspoon vanilla extract to separate bowl and mix the 2 together
set aside
in a mixing bowl add:
1 + 1/4 cup unsalted butter at room temperature
1 tablespoon orange zest
mix these two for 1 minute
after 1 minute add: 1 + 3/4 cup granulated sugar
slowly add the granulated sugar to the butter with the mixer still on
keep speed of the mixer on medium speed
mix for 4 minutes
the butter and sugar mixture will be light in color and fluffy
stop to the scrape down the sides of the bowl
after 4 minutes add: 4 eggs at room temperature
add 1 egg at a time beating for 1 minute
eggs should be fully blended in with the mixture
add some of the cake flour to the bowl, milk & poppy seeds and some orange juice
mix on low speed until flour is combined
repeat this 2 more times
scrape down sides of the bowl as needed
prepare a 9 inch Bundt cake pan
grease with some butter & dust with flour
preheat the oven to 325°F
add batter to the pan and using a spoon smooth the top surface
bake for 50 to 60 minutes
allow cake to cool in the pan for 15 minutes
make the orange glaze
after 15 minutes remove cake from a pan and drizzle the orange glaze over it!
slice and serve!

Oh, how I love all things lemon. Lemon meringue pie, lemon tarts, lemon squares and lemon poppyseed cake. The pop of the poppyseed is so pleasing - not to mention, I helped GROW the poppies that produced the beautiful seeds that I'm using for this cake! (Poppies are also wonderfully easy to grow, don't you know!) SO SATISFYING!

Incredibly light and tender homemade Poppy Seed Cake, is easy to make and perfect for brunch or dessert!
???? Ingredients ????
▢ 2 cups all-purpose flour
▢ 1/8 teaspoon salt
▢ 2 teaspoons baking powder
▢ 1/3 cup poppy seeds
▢ 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar, divided
▢ 1/2 cup butter
▢ 1 cup milk, divided
▢ 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
▢ 4 large egg whites
▢ powdered sugar for garnishing, if desired
???? Instructions ????
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a bundt pan.
Cream together butter and 1 1/4 cups of the granulated sugar. Stir in 1/4 cup milk and vanilla.
Sift together flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir in poppy seeds. Set aside.
Alternately add the flour mixture and the 3/4 cup milk, a little bit at a time, stirring gently after each addition, starting and ending with flour.
Beat the egg whites in a large bowl until they stand in soft peaks and then beat in remaining 1/2 cup sugar. Fold egg whites into cake batter.
Pour batter into greased bundt pan. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool for a few minutes in the bundt pan before inverting on a wire rack.
Sift powdered sugar over the top of the cake before serving.
