These delicious Russian sour cream waffles are to die for. A homemade waffle recipe that uses sour cream to create extra lift for a super-light and fluffy waffle with added flavor. I have made 3 different flavours that I love, chocolate raspberry, plain vanilla and amaretto and peanut butter topped with honey blossom honey and crushed cookies and nuts, and it is all within one batch. You can also make all 3 of just 1 flavour that you prefer. These sour cream waffles are so fluffy, almost like eating a cloud. Absolutely delicious and addictive.

Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups sour cream or buttermilk
½ cup malted milk powder (½ cup milk powder + 1½ tbsp malt powder)
2 eggs
2 tbsp honey
1½ tbsp unsalted butter, melted
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
¼ tsp salt
cooking oil/spray
To Serve:
1 oz per accompaniment (ice cream, whipped cream, syrup, etc.)
⬇️ How to make Belgian Malted Waffles ⬇️
0:10 In a mixing bowl, combine sour cream or buttermilk, eggs, honey, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Whisk until evenly incorporated. Set aside.
0:32 In another mixing bowl, combine flour, malted milk powder, baking powder, and salt. Stir to combine.
0:42 Fold your wet mixture into your flour mixture until evenly incorporated.
0:50 Cover, and set aside your batter in a chilled area. Allow to rest for at least 30 minutes.
0:56 Preheat your waffle iron and grease with cooking spray.
0:59 Ladle roughly ½ cup batter into your waffle iron and cover. Allow to cook, turning occasionally, until golden brown, roughly 8 to 10 minutes on medium. Repeat until you have used up all your waffle batter.
1:11 Serve with your choice of accompaniments.
