How To make Sourdough Apple Pancakes
2 c Starter
1 Egg
beaten
1/2 c Applesauce
2 tb Butter :
melted
1 tb Sugar
White flour -- kneaded 1/2 ts Baking soda
add egg, applesauce, melted butter, sugar and salt to the starter and mix briefly. Add flour to attain desired consistency mix until lump free. Just before baking dissolve baking soda in a tablespoon of water and gently blend with the batter pour 2 to 3 inch rounds on a hot (400) griddle. Cook 2 to 4 minutes and turn for an additional 2 minutes.

Happy 1st Day of Fall; Let's Make Sourdough Apple Pancakes
This is such a tasty fall season breakfast or if you are doing breakfast for dinner. The base of this recipe comes from Sue Becker from the Bread Beckers in Woodstock, Ga. I added my fall theme with fall apples and spices.
Sourdough Base Pancake Recipe from Sue Becker:
1 cup of active sourdough starter (I've used discard just fine)
1 cup of milk
1 cup of flour
2 eggs
1 to 2 tbsp of honey
1 tsp of baking soda
1 tsp of salt
3 tbsp of oil
My Apple recipe add to the above recipe:
2/3 cup of apple pieces (I used dehydrated, but you could use fresh or apple sauce)
2 tsp of cinnamon
1 tsp grated nutmeg
2 tsp of vanilla
1 tsp of apple pie spice (optional)
Mix all ingredients together in large mixing bowl.
Heat pan and melt a little butter (or cooking spray).
Then, add 1/4 cup of pancake mixture to pan.
Cook about a minute or until bubbling.
Flip and cook on other side for about 30 seconds.
Enjoy with your favorite syrup or jam!

1/2 cup of milk
