How To make Toasted Sunflower Seeds
1 c Sunflower seeds
1 ts Oil, if desired
1/4 ts Salt, if desired
Preheat oven to 325 F (slow). Mix sunflower seeds with oil only if salt is used. Spread plain or oiled seeds on baking sheet. Bake about 8 minutes or until lightly browned. (Watch carefully, these seeds brown quickly.) Sprinkle oiled seeds with salt while hot. Sunflower seeds are a must have for road trips and baseball games, but many store bought seeds have too much salt. I wanted to make a recipe that was big on flavor, but light on the salt. This one lets you experience a light smokey flavor and the natural flavor of the seeds.
Recipe:
1 head of sunflower seeds or 1/2 lb of raw sunflower seeds.
2 Tbsp Salt
