How To make Apple Oat Bran Scones
3 c All-purpose flour
1 c Bran flakes cereal; oat or w
4 ts Baking powder
1 ts Ground cinnamon
1/2 ts Salt
3/4 c Milk
1/4 c Vegetable oil
1/4 c Light brown sugar, packed
1 lg Egg
1 lg Red apple; cored
--unpeeled and coarsely chop 1 tb Butter; melted
Ground cinnamon; optional Recipe by: Country Cooking, Summer 1994 Preheat oven to 425 degrees; grease a large baking sheet. In a large bowl, combine flour, cereal, baking powder, cinnamon and salt. In a medium bowl, beat together milk, oil, sugar and egg. Add to dry ingredients along with chopped apple; mix lightly with a fork until mixture clings together and forms a soft dough. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently 5 or 6 times. Divide dough in half. With a lightly floured rolling pin, roll one half of the dough into a 7-inch round; cut into 4 wedges. Repeat with remaining dough. Place scones one inch apart on prepared pan. Pierce tops with the tines of a fork. Brush tops with melted butter and sprinkle with additional cinnamon, if desired. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve warm. Ingredients
2/3 cup Luke warm milk
1 teaspoon vinegar
115g oil or melted butter
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1/2 white sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
dry ingredients
1+1/2 cup Cake flour/all purpose flour
1/2 cup oats
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
Topping
1/4 cup flour
1/4 cup oats
1/4 cup light brown sugar
60g melted butter
bake @ 180 degrees Celsius
for 15 -20 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean ????

INGREDIENTS:
2 cups Rolled Oats (200g) -
1½ stick Unsalted Butter (175g) -
6 Large Apples (at least 1.7lb/800g)
1 cup Walnuts (100g) -
⅔ cup Granulated Sugar (170g) -
2 tsp Cinnamon, optional -
METHOD:
Process the oats and walnuts in a food processor until you get flour-like texture. Grate the apples.
In a mixing bowl, mix the processed oats, walnuts, sugar and cinnamon (optional). Grease your ovenproof dish (8.5x7 inch/22x18 cm) with butter.
Now cover the bottom of the oven dish with the oat mixtures (about a cup). Press down slightly. Add half of the apples and cover with about 1½-2 cups of the mixture again. Repeat again, with apples and the rest of the oat mixture.
At last grate or thinly slice the butter and cover the whole surface with it.
Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F/200°C for 35 minutes or until golden brown.
Serving suggestion: Pour over some vanilla pudding.
Preparation: 25 minutes
Cooking: 35 minutes
Serves: 8 portions

50 g melted and cooled butter(1/4 cup)
1 apple
80 g blueberries (2.5 oz)
7 g baking powder (1/2 tbsp)
20 x 8 cm baking form(7.9 x 3.1 inch)
bake for 50 minutes at 180°C/ 360°F
