How To make Baked Steak and Lima Beans
1 lb Dry Lima Beans
6 c Water
4 ea Slices Bacon
2 lb Round Steak (cutin 1"strips)
18 oz (1 cn) Tomato Juice
1 T Packed Brown Sugar
1/2 t Salt, Or To Taste
1 t Dry Mustard
1/2 t Black Pepper
Rinse beans; add 6 cups of water. Bring to a boil; simmer 5 minutes. Remove from heat; let stand, covered, 1 hour. Do not drain. After 1 hour cover, simmer 30 minutes. In Dutch oven, cook bacon til crisp. Drain, reserve drippings. Crumble bacon; set aside. Coat beef with flour. Brown beef in hot drippings, pour off excess fat. Stir in beans and onion. Combine toamto juice, brown sugar, salt, peper and mustard. Pour over beans and beef mizture. Bake covered in 325 degree F. oven til tender, about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Serve hot topped with crunbled bacon and grated cheese to taste.

1 bag of frozen lima beans (14oz)
1 medium onion ( about 3/4 cup)
1/2 cup roasted red peppers
1 cup of kale
1 cup of shredded cabbage
1 cup celery chopped
4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
2 tablespoons of All Purpose flour
1 tsp fresh basil (1/2 tsp if dried)
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp fresh thyme ( 1/2 tsp if dried)
1/2 tsp fresh sage (1/2 tsp if dried)
1 tsp of salt
1 tsp of pepper
1 tablespoon crushed garlic (more if you like it)
1 cup of shredded chicken or 1 cup of plant base sausage
1 cup of sausage or plant base sausage
olive oil

The Best BBQ Baked Beans You'll Ever Taste: Smoked Baked Beans Recipe
This is a family recipe for baked beans that has been in my family for many years. The use of Large Lima or Butter Beans in this recipe is largely a Pennsylvania thing. You can certainly use any type of bean for this recipe, it will be just as good!
• 8 oz. Cubed Ham
• 1 Large Onion (Chopped Coarsely)
• 3 TBSP of Olive Oil
• 1 Cup Light Brown Sugar
• 1 TSP of All Purpose Seasoning (DB 180)
• 3 TSP of BBQ Seasoning (Steak Princess Sweet Rapunzel)
• 2 ½ Cups of Ketchup
• 3 TBSP of Yellow Mustard
• 3 TBSP of Worcestershire Sauce
• 1/2 LB of Bacon Cooked and Chopped
• 4 15 oz. Cans of Butter Beans (Large Lima)
• 3 Strips of Bacon (For Top)
For this cook we used our RT 700 set to 350 degrees running a hickory and oak blend of pellets.
In a cast iron skillet, we sautéed the onions and ham until they just began to caramelize, season with 1 TSP each of the AP & BBQ Rubs.
Then incorporate the brown sugar.
Once the sugar dissolves, add the ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce and cooked bacon. Mix thoroughly.
In a large pot add the beans to the sauce mixture; you want to be sure to use the juice from two of the cans of beans. Mix again thoroughly and then transfer into an aluminum half pan. Add your uncooked bacon to the top and cook for 1 ½ hours or until the beans are done.

Traditional Fassolia bla7mi is a common household favorite. This dish is just as delicious if you make it without beef. Making it a delicious hearty vegan or vegetarian meal. To make it vegetarian don't add beef, and swap beef broth for veggie broth. To make it vegan just add extra oil instead of butter. Some people also like adding fresh chopped cilantro to both the beef or vegetarian versions!
