1 c White sugar
1 c Vegetable shortening
1/2 c Margarine; or butter
5 lg Eggs
1 c Milk
1 c Self-rising flour
2 c Plain flour
1 ts Vanilla
1/2 ts Maple flavoring
1 c Pecans; chopped
Cream sugars, shortening and butter well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine flours and add alternately with milk. Add flavorings and nuts. Pour int a lightly greased and floured tube pan and bake at 250~ for 2 hours or 325~ for 1 1/2 hours. DO NOT OPEN OVEN DOOR BEFORE COOKING TIME IS UP! -----

Depending on the temperature of your ingredients and the power of your mixer this can take anywhere from 5 to 7 minutes. If you have a thermometer, your butter should start between 60-65°F. if not, you should be able to lightly press the butter and leave a small indent. Not so hard that it makes no impression and not so soft that you can push right through.

Brown Sugar Pound Cake Recipe:
3 eggs room temperature
3 tablespoons (45 grams) milk, at room temperature
1 1/2 teaspoons (6 grams) pure vanilla extract
1 1/4 cups (150 grams) flour
1 teaspoon (4 grams) baking powder
1/4 teaspoon (1 gram) salt
1/2 cup light brown sugar (firmly packed)
1/4 cup castor sugar
3/4 cup (170 grams) butter, at room temperature
Brown Sugar Pound Cake: Preheat your oven to (180 degrees C) and place the oven rack in the center of the oven. Grease a 9x5 loaf tin .
In another bowl add your flour and baking powder keep aside
Cream the butter and sugar till fluffy, add the eggs one by one mixing after each addition .
Add the flour in three additions and alternate between the milk and flour till fully incorporated do not over mix .
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with an offset spatula or the back of a spoon. Bake for about 50 to 60 minutes or until the cake is golden brown cake tester or toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. (The cake will crack down the center... that is a happy crack ) If it is browning to fast lightly cover with a greased foil.
Remove the cake from the oven and allow to cool and tip out .

Set Oven to 325
1 cup butter softened/ aka 2 sticks
2 cups brown sugar packed
1 cup granulated sugar
5 eggs room temperature
1-2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour sifted
1 teaspoons baking powder (I said 2 in the video but it's actually 1 teaspoon)
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup toffee baking bits plus more for garnish
CARAMEL FROSTING
14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
1 cup brown sugar packed (I said 2 in the video but it's 1 cup) I used two 1/2 cups
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup pecan cookie pieces & toffees bits optional garnish (mixed together)

달콤하고 진한 흑설탕 파운드 케이크를 만들었어요~
흰설탕 대신 흑설탕을 넣어 파운드 케이크 반죽을 만들고 반죽 사이 사이 흑설탕을 뿌려 구워봤는데 흑설탕 특유의 진한 풍미가 너무 좋더라구요.
색도 진해서 먹음직스러워 보이는 것 같아요.
그냥 구워도 좋지만 달콤한 케이크와 견과류가 잘 어울릴 것 같아 호두를 넣어 봤는데 식감도 좋고 맛도 너무 잘 어울리더라구요~
집에 있는 견과류나 좋아하시는 견과류를 넣어 구워보시면 좋을 것 같아요^^
파운드 케이크는 냉장실에서 숙성시키면 맛이 더 진해지니 꼭 숙성해 드셔보세요~

[만드는 과정]
1. 실온 상태의 버터를 휘핑해 부드럽게 하고 흑설탕과 소금을 넣고 색이 밝아질 때까지 휘핑한다.
2. 크림치즈(실온 상태)를 넣고 휘핑한 뒤 달걀을 조금씩 나누어 넣고 휘핑한다.(분리 날 듯하면 밀가루를 조금 넣고 휘핑한다)
3. 바닐라 익스트랙도 마지막 달걀(실온 상태)을 넣을 때 함께 넣고 휘핑한다.
4. 박력분과 베이킹파우더를 체에 쳐서 넣고 주걱으로 섞다가 휘핑기로 섞어 마무리한다.
5. 반죽의 1/3을 틀에 짜고 흑설탕을 뿌린 다음 호두를 올린다.
6. 그 위에 남은 반죽의 반을 짜고 흑설탕을 뿌리고 호두를 올린다.
7. 남은 반죽을 모두 짜고 윗면에 흑설탕을 조금 뿌린 다음 175도 오븐에서 40분 정도 굽는다.
8. 굽고 나서 탕탕 바닥에 치고 바로 틀에서 꺼내 식힌다.
*비닐 랩으로 싸서 냉장실에서 하루 저녁 숙성해서 먹으면 더 진한 맛을 즐길 수 있어요.
