Cat's Canines ~ How to make Carob chip cookies for your dog
What is Carob you ask? Carob is a tropical pod that contains a sweet, edible pulp, after drying that pulp is made into ether powder or chocolate like chips like I use. Carob is also caffeine-free, we all know our dogs don't need any extra caffeine to keep them energized.

Vegan Hazelnut Carob Chip Cookies
Made these for fun today, use any cookie recipe and substitute with Carob and add nuts. Carob is much healthier than chocolate and has fiber. You can even make these for your dogs.

Carob Oatmeal Raisin Cookies
INGREDIENTS
1 1/4 cups or 1 can of chickpeas
1/4 cup carob powder
3/4 cup water
1 cup nut or seed butter ( I used cashew butter) OR nut-free use seed butter of choice
¾ cup oats (Preferably certified glyphosate free)
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp baking powder
1 cup (approx. 12) soft pitted Medjool dates
Pinch of salt
¾ cup raisins
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a large cookie sheet with parchment paper.
Add the chickpeas, vanilla, water, dates and salt to a food processor and process until smooth.
Add nut or seed butter and carob powder. Continue to blend.
Once ingredients are well combined and smooth add oats, baking soda, and baking powder. Blend briefly, just till combined.
Stir in raisins. You can do this in the food processor or by hand. Scoop out the batter about 2-3 tablespoons at a time.
Bake at 350 F for 12-15 minutes until the tops are slightly golden. Let cool on the tray until just warm before removing.

40 g of birch or dates sugar
20 ml almond oil (alternatives can be soya, linseeds or walnuts oil)
90 ml diary-free almond milk
a teaspon of baking soda
a pinch of salt
90 g of gounded almonds
100 g quinoa flour
50 g of carob chip
