Cherry Dessert Pizza
In this video clip, Tony Gemignani will show you how to make a sweet cherry dessert pizza.
Learn How To Make A Cherry Cream Dessert Pizza Many people crave the delicious and refreshing tastes and aroma of cherries. Many love mixing cherries with cream cheese to create some interesting and mouthwatering recipes. Many of those people will consider anything made with cherries to be a tempting type of comfort food that takes them back to the good old days. Cherries are useful in so many different types of recipes. For instance, you can learn how to make a cherry cream dessert pizza today to serve to your family and friends. It is easy to make. Recipe for Cherry Cream Dessert Pizza What You Need • 1 stick softened butter or margarine • 2 cups powdered sugar • 1 small package cream cheese • 1 Tablespoon vanilla flavoring • ½ cup softened butter or margarine • 1 ¼ cups quick oats • 1 package white cake mix • 1 egg • 1 large cans cherry pie filling 21 ounce • ¼ cup brown sugar • ½ teaspoon cinnamon • ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans How to Make It You can make ahead, the cream cheese topping if you like. To do this, you will need a medium size mixing bowl and an electric mixer. Add the butter or margarine, powdered sugar, cream cheese and vanilla flavoring and cream them together well. Cover with lid or plastic food wrap and then set aside until needed. Prepare your pizza pan by applying cooking spray lightly and then set aside until needed. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Using a large mixing bowl, you will cream 6 tablespoons of butter or margarine and then mix in 1 cup of the quick oats until well mixed. Add the cake mix and then combine thoroughly using a low speed setting or even using clean hands as the mixture will become dry and crumbly. Set aside ½ of crumbles in reserve for preparing the topping or garnish for this dessert pizza. Blend the egg into the remaining crumb mixture until thoroughly combined. Press this mixture onto the pizza pan you have prepared with cooking spray. Form a high ruffled edge around the pizza after stretching it out onto the pan. You can do this by gently pinching around the edges to form a rim and then gently forming the ruffles. However, you can just make a plain edge as well as long as you make sure that you make it high enough to hold the cherry pie filling for your dessert. Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake it for about 12 to 13 minutes before removing from the heat. Allow the pizza crust to become cool enough to handle. Pour the cherry filling into the crust and spread evenly throughout.
