Hummus is a dip, spread, or savory dish made from cooked, mashed chickpeas blended with tahini, lemon juice, and garlic. It is popular in the Middle East and Mediterranean, as well as in Middle Eastern cuisine around the globe. It can also be found in most grocery stores in North America and Europe.
Hummus | Pureed chickpeas, sesame seeds, olive oil, and spices
Serve: 4 | Total Time: 1:20 minutes | Vegan & Vegetarian
INGREDIENTS
3 cup cooked chickpeas/garbanzo bean = 1 cup dried cabanzo
1 + 1/4 cup raw sesame seeds
1 + 1/2 cup water
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup olive oil
2 garlic clove
2 tsp pink salt (or to taste)
1 tsp cumin
Paprika (garnish, optional)
cilantro (garnish, optional)
DIRECTIONS
STEP 1
Soak dried cabanzo bean overnight.
STEP 2
Cook cabanzo bean. In a pot, add the soaked, drained, and rinsed beans. Cover with several inches of water and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and cook on medium low for 1 hour (or until they reach your desired tenderness. Drain bean.
STEP 3
Combine all ingredients in blender and blend until you get the consisancy you like. Garnish with cilantro and paprika is optional. Enjoy!
NOTE: Feel free to add more water, oil or salt to blender to achieve the desire taste.

HOMEMADE HUMMUS RECIPE |Healthy Middle Eastern Dip with chickpeas, sesame seeds and olive oil
Hummus is a healthy Middle Eastern dip, great for grills, rolls and meat barbecue.
There are plenty ready made ones in stores, but whats better than a healthy homemade hummus.
This recipe makes a lusciously creamy, yet somehow light and fluffy dip. It's nutty and tangy, thanks to the Tahini, with notes of bright, fresh lemon and mellow garlic!
INGREDIENTS :
For Tahini paste:
1/2 cup roasted sesame seeds
3 tablespoons olive oil
Pinch of salt
For hummus :
1/4 cup tahini paste
Juice of 1 lemon
1 cup boiled chickpeas (can also use canned)
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 cloves of garlic
1/4 teaspoon cumin powder
3 tablespoons water
Paprika powder for serving
ROASTED VEGGIE & VERMICELLI POWER BOWL WITH HOT HONEY-SESAME CHICKPEAS & PEANUT SAUCE!
For the sauce:
2 tbsp peanut butter
1 tbsp hot honey (or regular)
1/2 tbsp tamari soy sauce
1/2 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tsp sesame oil

For the chickpeas:
1 15-oz can chickpeas l, rinsed and drained
1 tbsp olive oil
1-2 tbsp hot honey (or regular)
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp sesame seeds
•
For the veggies:
1 head broccoli, cut into florets
6-8 carrots, halved & cut into 2-inch pieces
2-3 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp salt
•
For serving:
4-6 oz vermicelli noodles, cooked
1 tbsp tamari soy sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
Chopped cashews or peanuts
Chopped scallions
•
1️⃣Preheat the oven to 425. Line 2 sheet pans with parchment paper and set aside. 2️⃣Make the veggies. Add the broccoli and carrots to one sheet pan, add the olive oil, salt and paprika and toss to coat. Place in the oven for 30 minutes, flipping halfway.3️⃣Next, make the chickpeas. Add the chickpeas, olive oil, honey, salt and 1 tbsp sesame seeds. Toss to coat and place on the second sheet pan. Spread out then add the remaining sesame seeds. Place in the oven for 17-19 minutes. Toss them every five minutes, and the sesame will adhere more as they cook. 4️⃣While everything cooks, make the sauce, add the peanut butter, honey, soy sauce, vinegar and sesame oil. Whisk to combine until smooth. Set aside. 5️⃣Assemble the bowls. Add the noodles to a bowl, then add the tamari soy sauce, sesame oil and half the scallions. Toss to coat, then add the veggies and the chickpeas. Add the cashews, remaining scallion and drizzle with the sauce.
