How To make Corn Meal Waffles
1 1/2 c Corn-meal 1 Egg, well beaten
1/2 c White flour 1 c Milk
3 ts Baking powder 1/2 ts Salt
3/4 c Melted shortening 1 tb Sugar
Combine egg, shortening, milk, and corn-meal. Sift flour, measure, and sift with baking powder, salt, and sugar. Add to first mixture. Beat until smooth. Bake in hot waffle iron. 4 servings. Mrs. Anne Payson, Haswell, CO. -----

Cornbread Waffles Recipe:

Ingredients:
1 cup cornmeal
8 ounces corn kernels
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 2/3 cups milk
6 tablespoons butter, melted
2 large eggs
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
Directions:
Prepare your waffle iron to the highest temperature.
In a large bowl, stir together all ingredients until combined.
Once heated, spray waffle iron with non-stick spray.
Pour 2/3 cup batter onto skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes.
Serve hot and enjoy!

How to Make Cornbread Waffles
Cornbread waffles are homemade, savory waffles made with basic pantry ingredients. We love to serve them with chili on top for an easy weeknight meal!
INGREDIENTS ⬇️⬇️
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/4 cups yellow cornmeal
1 Tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon granulated sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups milk
3 Tablespoons oil (vegetable or canola oil)
2 large eggs
Your favorite chili
Optional chili toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, chopped green onion
INSTRUCTIONS ⬇️⬇️
1. Preheat waffle iron.
2. In a large bowl combine the flour, cornmeal, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
3. Add milk, oil, and eggs and stir until smooth, but don't over-mix.
4. Spray waffle iron with non-stick cooking spray. Pour batter onto hot waffle iron and bake in batches.
5. Serve with chili over top, if desired, garnished with shredded Cheddar, sour cream and chopped green onion.
