Ingredientes: ▪️ 3 herring fillets 200 g ▪️ Canned peas 100 g ▪️ 2 hard boiled eggs, diced ▪️ 1 small onion, diced (blanched with boiling water) ▪️ Chopped dill ▪️ 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise ▪️ 1 tablespoon of sour cream ▪️ 1 teaspoon of mustard ▪️ Black pepper to taste
Grandma says: soak herring fillets in cold water to lose their saltiness. Use cold water. Put the prepared herring fillets in water and in the refrigerator. It is recommended to change the water periodically, for example every hour. If the fish floats to the surface, it has lost enough salt. You need to soak for several hours until you get the desired taste. For the best effect, you can add a small amount of vinegar to the water. Finally (after several hours) rinse the herring fillets again with cold water and pat them dry.
Method: 1. Mix the ingredients of the sauce: 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon of sour cream and 1 teaspoon of mustard. Set aside. 2. Cut the prepared herring fillets into 2 cm pieces. Dice the onion and blanch it with boiling water. Dry with a kitchen paper towel. Dice the eggs. Drain the peas. Chop the dill. 3. Combine all salad ingredients. Add the sauce and mix well. Add black pepper to taste. 4. Put in the fridge for 2-3 hours.

Today I tried Appel brand Herring in Paprika Cream. It had a real strong fishy smell. Like fish on a hot day fishy smell. I probably would have liked it better if it didn't have the paprika cream on it, because the two flavors din't go good together. I have to go poop now.
