How To make Crockpot Beef Stew
Ingredients

pound
beef, extra lean
7
each
carrots, cut in 2 inch chunks
2 1/2 potatoes, cut in eighths
1/4
inch
slices, slices cut in half and separated into rings
1
each
tomatoes, italian-style canned,stewed tomatoes, undrained (or plain)
2-3
tablespoon
flour
1
teaspoon
salt
1/4
teaspoon
pepper
1/4
teaspoon
thyme
1/4
teaspoon
basil
2-3
tablespoon
worcestershire sauce
Directions:
Layer the veggies and meat (in that order), mix flour and seasonings and sprinkle over each meat layer. Sprinkle with worcestershire sauce, pour stewed tomatoes over all, cover and cook on Low 10-12 hours.
Note: Variable amounts are for 3-1/2 or 5 quart pots. There is lots of gravy, which may be thickened with cornstarch if desired. Sometimes instead of potatoes, cook large elbow macaroni separately and put the macaroni in the bowl with leftover stew to soak up the good gravy. Also add a drained can of cut green beans to the veggies (during the last 4 hours).

????Crockpot Beef Stew Recipe:
CROCKPOT BEEF STEW:
-2 Tbsp Oil
-1 Onion, diced
-2 1/2 lbs. Stew Meat
-1/4 Cup All-Purpose Flour
-1 packet McCormick Beef Stew Seasoning Mix
-1 packet Brown Gravy Mix
-5 Cups Water
-3 tsp. Beef Better than Bouillon
-1 Tbsp. Worcestershire Sauce
-1 1/2 lbs. Russet Potatoes, Peeled and cut into pieces
-2 Cups Baby Carrots-2 Bay leaves, (optional)
-1 Cup Frozen Peas
-1 Tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar, optional
***To a large skillet, over med-high heat, add 2 Tbsp. of Oil, and 1 diced Onion. Sautee for about 5 minutes to allow to soften a bit. Then add in Beef Stew Meat and All-purpose flour, stir, brown meat on all sides. Scrape bottom of skillet to loosen those flavorful brown bits. Pour all that into a large Crockpot. Then add in Beef Stew Seasoning Packet, Brown Gravy Mix, Carrots, Potatoes, Water, Beef Bouillon, Worcestershire sauce, ACV, and bay leaves. Cook on LOW for 8 hours. ***When Beef Stew has beef cooking for about 7 1/2 hours, add in frozen Peas and let continue to cook for 30 more minutes. Then enjoy

Our Family’s Classic Beef Stew. The beef is so tender and just melts in your mouth! Every bit of this beef stew is infused with wonderful flavor from slow roasting in the oven.

INGREDIENTS for the Classic Beef Stew Recipe:
►6 oz thick sliced bacon chopped into 1/4 wide strips
►2 - 2 1/2 lbs boneless beef chuck or good quality stew meat trimmed and cut into 1 pieces
►Salt and ground black pepper to taste
►1/4 cup all-purpose flour
►2 cups good red wine such as Soft Red or Pinot Noir (see note above)
►1 lb mushrooms thickly sliced
►4 large carrots peeled and cut into 1/2 thick pieces
►1 medium yellow onion diced
►4 garlic cloves chopped
►1 Tbsp tomato paste
►4 cups low sodium beef broth or beef stock
►2 bay leaves
►1 tsp dried thyme
►1 lb small potatoes new potatoes, or fingerling, halved or quartered

2 handfuls of fingerling potatoes, halved if too large
1 white onion, cut into 1 inch chunks
2 stalks of celery, sliced into 1 inch pieces
1 tb Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp paprika
½ tsp thyme
½ tsp oregano
1 bay leaf
3 cloves garlic, chopped
salt and pepper to taste
¼ cup cornstarch
