How To make Drop Sugar Cookies
4 c All-purpose flour
1 tb Baking powder
1/2 ts Salt
1 ts Ground cardamom
Or freshly grated nutmeg 1 1/2 c Unsalted butter; softened
1 1/2 c Sugar
2 Eggs
2 tb Milk
2 ts Vanilla
Sprinkles (optional) Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and cardamom or nutmeg and set aside. In a bowl beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs, milk, and vanilla. Stir in the flour mixture just until blended. Drop by level tablespoonfuls onto 2 lightly greased baking sheets. Flattenslightly with a fork. Decorate with sprinkles, if desired. Bake 12 to 15 minutes, or until edges are lightly browned. Cool on a wire rack. Instructions

00:23 Preheat oven to 350F (175C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper². Set aside.
00:27 In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat together butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until creamy and well-combined.
01:03 In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda.

Notes
¹Unsalted butter:
If using salted, reduce the salt in the recipe to ½ teaspoon
²Parchment paper:
If you don’t have parchment paper, bake cookies directly on an ungreased baking sheet.
Storing:
Cookies will keep in an airtight container at room temperature for at least a week.
