1 md To large apple; at room temp
-cut into small chunks 1/3 c Raisins;
2 tb Walnuts; or pecans, chopped
PER SERVING:

7 x *mg sodium
Stir brown sugar and cinnamon into cooked oatmeal. Add apple chunks, raisins, and chopped nuts. Serve hot. Oatmeal, A New Family Favorite
Never underestimate the abilities of a young child. My grandson, who is six, wanted to make his famous oatmeal while visiting with us. His Nona said, “Why don’t we have papa film you making it.” I have to admit, I was surprised at his cooking talent; you must try this dish to really appreciate the taste.

Recipe
2 cups of your favorite berries
3 cups of water
1-2 tbls of brown sugar
2 cups of rolled oats
Place all the ingredients in a pan
Turn on high heat until the liquid starts to boil
Turn heat down to a simmer for 20 minutes

Just when I thought overnight oats or the classic stovetop oatmeal were my favorites, this baked oatmeal proves its worth for breakfast. It's easily sliceable into 6 portions and can be jazzed up with a quick dollop of creamy yogurt. I'd say this healthy baked oatmeal recipe is another perennial winner for breakfast meal prep.

Pumpkin Baked Oatmeal Made with 9 Grains Instead of Plain Oatmeal....Easy and Delicious
Brenda shares her recipe for Baked Pumpkin Oatmeal. She uses 9-grain mixture in place of the oatmeal. It also uses pumpkin that was grown on Waardenburg Family Farm.
Recipe for Baked Pumpkin Oatmeal
1 ½ cups quick-cooking oats ( I used 9-grain cereal)
1 cup solid pumpkin (pumpkin puree)
3/4 cup milk
3/4 cup chopped pecans, divided (use 1/4 cup for top)
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1½ teaspoons pumpkin pie spice mix
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
Preheat oven to 350° F and grease a 9-inch square or 2-quart baking dish.
Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl and stir until well combined. Spread into prepared dish. Sprinkle top with 1/4 cup chopped pecans and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until edges are starting to turn golden brown. Serve with honey and milk if desired.
Recipe for Pumpkin Pie Spice
3 Tablespoons ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons ground ginger
1 and 1/2 teaspoons ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1 teaspoon ground allspice
