All-Purpose Flour, 100% – 600g (4 1/2 Cups)
Warm Water, 75% – 450g (2 Cups)
Coarse Sea Salt, 1% – 6g (3/4 tsp.)
Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 3.3% – 20g (2 tbsp.)
Active Dry Yeast, 0.15% – 1/4 tsp. (Instant is good too or 4-5g fresh yeast)

Italian focaccia bread is a fantastic gateway to the the world of bread making. This recipe simplifies the dough making process, step-by-step, in a way that's easy to understand. The results are truly amazing.
Focaccia (Italian Bread) Recipe
4-6 servings
Prep Time 20 minutes
Cook Time 20-25 minutes
Total Time 40-45 minutes
Ingredients:
- 4 cups of flour
- 1.5 cups of lukewarm water (300 ml)
- Half a cup of olive oil (100 ml)
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 packet of instant yeast
For the Topping:
- Rosemary
- Bell pepper
- Cherry tomatoes
- Blue poppy seeds
Instructions:
1. **Prepare the Dough:**
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, yeast, salt, sugar, lukewarm water, and olive oil. Mix until the dough comes together. Alternatively, you can knead the dough by hand.
2. **First Rise:**
- Cover the bowl, and let the dough rise for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
3. **Prepare the Baking Dish:**
- Grease a (24 x 32 cm) baking dish with olive oil. Transfer the risen dough to the dish, press it down to cover the surface, and let it rest for 15 minutes.
4. **Shape the Dough:**
- After resting, pour olive oil over the dough. Shape the dough by pressing it with your fingertips.
5. **Second Rise:**
- Let the prepared focaccia rest for another 15 minutes.
6. **Add Toppings:**
- Decorate the dough with rosemary, bell pepper strips, cherry tomatoes, and blue poppy seeds. You can use anything you prefer.
7. **Preheat the Oven:**
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (360°F), with both upper and lower heat settings.
8. **Bake:**
- Bake the focaccia in the preheated oven for approximately 20-25 minutes or until it turns golden brown.
9. **Serve:**
- Once baked, your soft and delicious Italian focaccia is ready to be served. Enjoy your meal!

Hazırlanışı
1. Öncelikle hamuru için yoğurma kabına 4 su bardağı un, 1 paket instant maya, 1 tatlı kaşığı tuz, 1 yemek kaşığı toz şeker, 1,5 su bardağı ılık su ve yarım su bardağı zeytinyağını alalım.
Hamur toparlanıncaya kadar yoğuralım.
2. Hamur toparlandıktan sonra temiz bir örtü ile örterek 1 saat kadar mayalanmaya bırakalım.
3. Sürenin sonunda hamurun üzerini açalım ve spatula ile şöyle bir toparlayalım.
4. Toparlanan hamuru zeytinyağı ile yağladığımız 24 x 32 cm boyutlarındaki fırın kabına alalım.
5. Fırın kabını kaplayacak şekilde elimizle bastırarak açalım. 15 dakika kadar tepsi mayası için bekletelim.
6. Sürenin sonunda hamurun üzerine tekrar zeytinyağı dökelim. Parmak uçlarımızla bastırarak hamuru şekillendirelim.
7. Daha sonra hamurun üzerini taze soğan, biberiye, kırmızı soğan, kapya biber, zeytin ve mavi haşhaş ile dilediğimiz şekilde süsleyelim.
8. Hazır olan focaccia ekmeğimizi önceden ısıtılmış 180 °C fırında, alt üst fansız ayarda yaklaşık 25 dakika pişmeye bırakalım.
9. Sürenin sonunda pişen yumuşacık İtalyan ekmeğimiz focaccia servise hazır. Afiyet olsun!

I met with the pizza champion, Lucio, and we set out to make the perfect focaccia, and luckily, we have done just that! With a few simple ingredients, time, and dedication, we made the best focaccia I have ever tasted.
The Focaccia bread has a beautiful golden brown bottom with an airy, fluffy inside and crunchy top. The taste of the extra virgin olive oil seeps through the bread and is absolutely divine. We split the focaccia up into three sections with separate toppings for each. The topping combination was incredible, from rosemary and salt to caramelized onions and potatoes
