Easy French Bread Recipe
2 ¼ cups warm water (not too hot to drink but hotter than luke warm)
2 Tbsp sugar
1 Tbsp yeast (instant or active dry yeast)
2 ½ tsp salt
2 Tbsp canola or vegetable oil
5–6 cups of all purpose flour
INSTRUCTIONS
Fit your stand mixer with a dough hook (if you don’t have a stand mixer you can just use a large mixing bowl and a wooden spoon). Add in the water, sugar and yeast. If using active dry yeast let the mixture sit for 3 minutes, until foamy. If using instant yeast, no need to wait go on to step 2.
Add in the salt, oil and 2 cups of the flour and mix on low for 15 seconds. Add in 3-4 more cups of flour a little at a time while the mixer is on low. Stop adding flour once the dough clears the sides and middle of the bowl. Then let the mixer knead the bread for 2-3 minutes on medium speed.
Spray your Instant Pot liner with non stick cooking spray. Add the dough into the Instant Pot. Turn your Instant Pot to the yogurt setting and click adjust until it select the yogurt button. Use the adjust button to cycle through until the light is on the “less.” My pot says 24 hours on the display. Then cover the pot with a glass lid or a plate (see note). Let the dough double in size, about 30 minutes.
Spread a little flour on your counter and turn the dough onto the counter. Divide the dough in half. Pat each dough ball into a rectangle a little bigger than the size of a notebook paper. Roll the dough up starting from the long size and press out any air bubbles with the heel of your hand. Pinch the seam. Place the bread seam side down on a cookie sheet sprayed with non stick spray or lined with parchment (see note). Then repeat with the other loaf of bread.
Use a serrated knife to slash four lines (very gently) in the top of your bread.
Lay a clean kitchen towel over the top of the bread and let it raise for 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
Heat your oven to 375° F. Bake for 12 minutes and then rotate the pan and bake for 12 more minutes until the bread is golden.
Note: DO NOT use the normal Instant Pot lid. If you do the dough might raise so high that it pushes the valve up and indicates to the pot that there is pressure. You won't be able to open the pot and the lid will be stuck.

HOMEMADE FRENCH BREAD // EASY STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS
This is an easy French bread recipe that anyone can make! This bread is soft and fluffy on the inside and has an amazing crisp crust on the outside...just the way you want it! Before you know it, you'll be pulling your own bakery style loaves out of the oven and patting yourself on the back! Let's get cooking!
French Bread Recipe:
3 cups warm water ( 115 degrees )
1 1/2 TBSP. active dry yeast with a dash of sugar
2 TBSP. sugar
1 TBSP. salt
1/4 cup salted butter, melted
7-8 cups flour
1 egg white for brushing on loaves
In a small bowl add the warm water, yeast and dash of sugar. Stir with a whisk and cover for 10 minutes until yeast mixture is foamy. Meanwhile in a large bowl or mixer add sugar, salt, and melted butter. When yeast is foamy add it to the mixture and stir. Add 3 cups flour, mix. Then add 2 more cups, mix. Add the last 2 cups (making a total of 7 cups) and mix. Feel the dough, if it is sticky add a little bit of flour until it is easy to handle and isn't sticky. Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5 minutes. Spray a large bowl with non-stick cooking spray and place dough in bowl, spray top of dough and cover with a towel or cling wrap lightly. Let the dough raise until double in size.
Punch down dough and divide into 2 large loaves, 6 small and 1 large, or 12 small loaves. Roll each loaf to desired shape and place on a sprayed baking sheet. With kitchen shears or a sharp knife cut angled slits on top of loaves. Beat 1 egg white and brush on top of loaves. Let raise uncovered until double in size (about 30-40 minutes).
Place dough into preheated 350 degree oven for 30 minutes (large loaf) or 15-20 minutes (small loaves).

HOW TO MAKE FRENCH BAGUETTES AT HOME / Easy No Knead French Bread Recipe
Fresh Homemade French Baguettes are simply amazing!
These french bread/baguettes are light and airy with a crusty exterior and a very soft and chewy interior.
While it's a challenge to make real baguettes at home, this version is probably as close to an artisan bakery version as you're going to find. The ingredients in baguettes are pure simplicity: flour, water, salt, and yeast.
Baking Tray Amazon link:
Ingredients for making french bread/baguttes :
Flour: 700 g
Salt: 2 Tsp
Instant yeast: 1 and 1/2 Tsp
Water: 530 ml
Method:
Step 1
Prepare the dough.
In to a large bowl, add all the dry ingredients and give it a good whisk to make sure everything is well combined.
Pour water and mix them together.Make sure there are no dry patches in the dough.
Step 2
First proofing (2 hours)
Cover the dough with a plastic film and keep it in a warm environment for 2 hours or until the dough get doubled in size.
Keep it in the refrigerator.
Step 3
Divide and preshape the dough
Take the dough out of refrigerator and divide the dough (The total weight of the dough will be approximately1200 g)The dough is sufficient to make 5 baguettes of 250 g each.
Make round dough balls out of each by pulling the edges into the center. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 45 minutes.
Step 4
Shape the dough balls into baguette.
Working with one piece at a time, flatten the dough slightly then fold it nearly (but not quite) in half, sealing the edges with the heel of your hand.
With the seam side down, cup your fingers and gently roll the dough into a log (size matching your pan).
Step 5
Final proofing
Place the logs seam-side down onto a lightly greased or parchment-lined sheet pan or pans; or into the folds of a heavily floured cotton dish towel (or couche). Cover them with lightly greased plastic wrapper a damp cloth, and allow the loaves to rise until they're slightly puffy . The loaves should certainly look lighter and less dense than when you first shaped them, but won't be anywhere near doubled in bulk. This should take about 45 minutes to an hour at room temperature (about 68°F).
Towards the end of the rising time, preheat your oven to 450°F .
If your french baguette bread have risen in a dish towel or couche, gently roll them (seam side down) onto a lightly greased (or parchment-lined) baking sheet on to a non stick baking tray. If you plan on baking them on a baking stone, roll them onto a piece of parchment, and lift the parchment onto a baker's peel.
Using a baker's lame (a special curved blade) or a very sharp knife held at about a 45° angle, make three to five long lengthwise slashes in each baguette.
Step 6
Bake the french bread/ baguettes
Load the french bread/baguettes into the oven. If you’re baking on a stone, use a baker’s peel to transfer the baguettes, parchment and all, onto the hot stone.
Carefully pour the boiling water into the cast iron pan, and quickly shut the oven door. The billowing steam created by the boiling water will help the baguettes rise, and give them a lovely, shiny crust.
Bake the baguettes — on the pan, or on a stone — for 24 to 28 minutes, or until they're a very deep golden brown.
Remove them from the oven and cool them on a rack.
Storing Baguette
Baguettes are best when they are fresh out of the oven.Authentic Baguettes have a very short shelf life..It's a daily bread and should ideally be consumed the day of use. (Who can wait anyway?) If you need to store bread for longer periods of time, you should freeze it.
The best way you can store a baguette is by freezing them.
Step 1
Prepare a fresh baguette for freezing as soon as possible after baking. Let the baguette cool completely. Place it in an airtight freezer bag, squeeze out the extra air and zip it closed. If the baguette is too long to fit into the bag, cut it into pieces.
Step 2
Store the baguette in the freezer until several hours before you need it.
Step 3
Remove the frozen baguette from the freezer bag, wrap it in a tea towel and thaw it on the counter for two hours, or until fully thawed.
Step 4
Heat the thawed baguette in the oven at 200 degrees Fahrenheit for a few minutes to warm it, if desired. Don't leave it in the oven for longer than a few minutes or it will dry out.
