GUADALUPE HOT FUDGE SAUCE----- 2 cups Semi sweet choc. chips 1 cup Whipping cream 1/3 cup Corn starch In a medium bowl, place the crushed cookies, almond extract and melted butter, mix together. Press the mixture into a buttered pie pan to form a crust.Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake crust for 6-8 minutes. Let cool, then freeze for 15 minutes. Remove from freezer and spread chocolate ice cream evenly onto the bottom of crust. Sprinkle peanut butter chips evenly on top of the ice cream. Freeze for 15 min. or until the ice cream is firm. Spread vanilla ice cream evenly on top. Sprinkly chopped Heath bars on top; freeze. Serve with Guadalupe Hot Fudge Sauce. To make sauce, melt the chocolate chips in a double boiler. Add whipping cream and corn starch. Mix together. Serve over the Heath Bar Pie. Recipe from the Guadalupe Cafe as printed in our local newspaper 7/14/93

Vintage Heath Bar Pie recipe
This recipe is one my mom used to make in the 60’s and 70’s for card club when they came to our house. I’m not sure where she got the recipe. It is a simple recipe that comes together very quickly. It is a refrigerated recipe, not frozen, even though it has ice cream in it. Heath Bar Pie
Preheat oven to 350 Make a graham cracker crust to fit a 9x13 pan. 2.5 cups graham crackers crushed 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup butter melted Mix together and press into pan. Bake for ten minutes in preheated oven and let cool
Make filling Mix together two small boxes instant vanilla pudding with one cup on milk. Add four cups of softened vanilla ice cream. Crush four Heath bars (maybe five -I think they are smaller now!). Add 3/4 of crumbs to mixture. Spread in prepared pan. Top with cool whip and sprinkle with reserved Heath bar crumbs. Refrigerate for at least two hours.
