How To make Homemade Banana Layer Cake
BETTER HOMES & GARDENS 6/94:
2 c All-purpose flour
1 1/2 c Sugar
1 1/2 ts Baking powder
3/4 ts Baking soda
1/2 ts Salt
1 c Ripe banana; mashed (3 med)
1/2 c Buttermilk or sour milk*
1/2 c Shortening
2 Eggs
1 ts Vanilla
Grease and flour two 9x1-1/2-inch round baking pans; set aside. In a large mixing bowl combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add banana, buttermilk or sour milk, shortening, eggs and vanilla. Beat with an electric mixer on low speed till combined. Beat on medium speed for 3 minutes. Pour into prepared pans. Bake in a 350 degree oven 30 minutes or till a toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool on wire racks 10 minutes. Remove frompans; cool completely on rackes. *Note: To make 1/2 cup sour milk, combine 1/2 cup milk with 1-1/2 teaspoons lemon juice or vinegar and let stand 5 minutes before using. Nutrition facts per serving: 294 cal., 11g total fat (3g sat.fat) 36mg chol., 235mg sodium, 47g carbo., 1g fiber, 4g pro. Daily Value: 1% vit. A, 4% vit. C.

Banana Caramel Layer Cake
This Caramel Banana Layer Cake is elegant and delicious! Moist banana cake layers covered in caramel sauce and frosted with more caramel frosting! Two of my favorite things in one awesome cake! Recipe:
Banana Layer Cake: this is everything you want!
A double-layered, moist and flavorful banana cake topped with fluffy cream cheese frosting. We guarantee that everyone will love this cake!
INGREDIENTS
1 cup sugar
½ cup brown sugar
¾ cup butter-softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
¾ cup sour cream
¼ cup vegetable oil
3 large eggs
2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 ¼ cups mashed banana (about 2 large or 3 medium bananas)
1 cup heavy cream
450 g cream cheese
1 ½ cups butter-room temperature
2 teaspoons vanilla
½ teaspoon salt
7–8 cups powdered sugar
5–6 small bananas
METHOD
Mix together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
In another bowl, beat softened butter for two minutes. Then add sugar and brown sugar and beat well. Then add sour cream, oil and vanilla and mix well, add eggs and mix until combined. Then add half of the dry ingredients, mix it and add remaining dry ingredients and add mashed bananas.
Divide the dough between 2 pans, smooth the tops and bake 25-28 minutes at 350 ‘F ( 175’ C)
Let the cakes cool enough.
Spread a thin layer of frosting onto the first cake, arrange peeled bananas over the frosting. Spread more frosting over bananas and fill all the gaps between bananas. Place the second cake onto the top and spread remaining frosting over the cake.
Decorate with whipped cream and banana pieces.

Southern Banana Cake Recipe| Homemade

**NOTE** The correct baking temperature is 275 F. In the video I said 325 F.
