LEMON GARLIC MARINATED STEAK SANDWICHES | Richard in the kitchen
In this video I show y'all how to make an absolutely delicious lemon garlic marinaded steak sandwiches with tender sirloin beef. Super easy and effective homemade lemon garlic marinade that tenderizes the sirloin and gives it a mouth-watering, melt -in-your mouth flavor. Just marinate for a couple hours in the lemon garlic and oil marinade, season with only salt and black pepper then cut it thin into strips and cook for under 2 minutes. Add it and your favorite sauce spread, cheese, tomatoes, onion and lettuce to your choice of sandwich bread or bun and enjoy a fantastic steak sandwich.
Shopping List: Servings: 2 sandwiches
6 ounces of sirloin tenderloin
Kosher salt and course black pepper
1 tbsp. Canola oil for cooking the sirloin (more for the marinade)
1 garlic clove, chopped for cooking the sirloin (more for the marinade)
1/4 onion, diced
Several sprigs of thyme
2 tbsp butter
Tomato slices
Shredded lettuce
Your choice of sandwich spread (I'm using thousand island)
MARINADE:
1/2 c fresh lemon juice
1/4 c extra virgin olive oil
1 tsp. minced garlic
1 tbsp chopped parsley (optional)
1 tsp. course black pepper
Directions:
Prepare the marinade with the marinade ingredients listed above into a sealed container. Place the sirloin in the marinade, shake to coat and place in the fridge for NO LONGER than 2 hours. Any longer and the acid in the lemon juice will begin to chemically cook the beef.
After marinating, gently rinse the sirloin and place in the freezer for about 30-45 minutes. This will make it easier to make really thin slices.
Remove the sirloin from the freezer and slice into about 1/8th inch slices. Season well with kosher salt and course black pepper. Heat a skillet with the 1 tbsp Canola oil over medium high heat. Add the onion and saute about 3 minutes. Add the sirloin and cook for about 1 1/2- 2 minutes until all of the pink is gone. Tossing the whole time. When done, remove the skillet from the heat and add the butter, garlic and thyme then spoon that mixture over the cooked sirloin. Remove from the skillet and allow to rest 2-3 minutes.
Build your sandwich with the sandwich spread, sirloin, tomato slices, and shredded lettuce. Garnish with dill pickle slices.
Enjoy!

Steak Marinade
This is a simple but magical beef steak marinade that adds juiciness and flavour into steaks, transforming good value steaks from just ok to wow!. It injects extra flavour without overpowering the natural flavour of beef, and makes the meat tender.
Use this beef marinade when you aren't splurging on prime-grade steaks. It works great on any cut of beef suitable for grilling!
