Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
3 cups macaroni pasta, cooked & cooled
3 oz yellow onions, diced
15 oz tomato sauce
2 tsp minced garlic
½ tsp ground black pepper
1 cup cream cheese or cottage cheese
1 cup cheddar cheese, grated
1 cup monterey jack cheese, grated
1 cup mozzarella cheese, grated
1 cup sour cream
½ cup parmesan cheese, grated or powdered
To serve:
Chopped parsley
⬇️ How to make Sour Cream Beef Macaroni Casserole ⬇️
0:09 Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F & grease a baking casserole of your choice.
0:19 In a wide skillet over medium heat, saute the ground beef until caramelized, roughly 5-8 minutes. Drain any excess oils.
0:38 Add the onions & garlic. Saute until translucent.
0:57 Add tomato sauce & pepper. Stir to combine & bring mixture to a brief simmer, another 5 minutes. Set aside.
1:16 In a large mixing bowl, combine sour cream, parmesan cheese, & cottage or cream cheese. Whisk until evenly incorporated.
1:39 Fold the pasta into your cheese mixture until evenly incorporated.
1:55 Place half of the pasta mixture into your greased baking dish, then layer with half of the beef mixture.
2:15 Sprinkle with half each of cheddar, mozzarella, & Monterey Jack cheeses. Repeat until you have 2 layers of pasta, beef, & ending with cheeses.
2:41 Bake for roughly 30 minutes or until cheese has melted & turned golden brown.
2:49 Once baked, cool the casserole briefly onto cooling racks. Portion accordingly, garnish with roughly 1 tsp parsley for the entire casserole, & serve.
