How To make Pork, Potato, and Green Bean Stew
2 14.5 oz cans chicken broth
1 pound boneless pork loin
trim fat, cube
4 red potatoes :
cut in 1/2" cubes
1 onion chopped
2 cloves garlic :
minced
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
2 cups frozen cut green beans
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Heat pork loin, potatoes, onion, and garlic with 1 can chicken broth in skillet for 5 to 10 minutes over medium heat. Transfer to crock-Pot.
Combine 3/4 cup chicken broth and flour in a small bowl. Set aside.
Add remaining broth, green beans, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and pepper to Cr ock-Pot and stir. Cover and cook 8 to 10 hours on Low or 4 to 5 hours on High. If on Low, turn to High and stir in flour mixture. Cook 30 minutes to thicke n. Serve.

Easy Smoked Turkey Green Beans & Potato Soup ~ Green Bean and Potatoes Recipe
This is a quick, easy, healthy and delicious recipe cooking with smoked turkey, fresh green beans and potatoes. Smoked turkey thighs, drumsticks and wings are a great substitute for ham/pork having almost the same smoky flavor. Another recipe from my childhood and from the Pennsylvania Dutch Amish country. Enjoy
Easy Smoked Turkey Green Beans & Potato Soup Recipe
INGREDIENTS:
2-3 pds smoked turkey thigh, drumsticks or wings
10-12 cups chicken broth
1 cup diced onion
1 cup diced carrots
2-3 cups diced green beans
3-4 cups diced bite size potatoes
salt and pepper
Take the skin off the turkey meat as much as you can
and rinse thoroughly. This will help remove some of the
salt.
Place in a crock pot and add 10-12 cups of chicken
broth and cook on low for 5-6 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
You can cook on the stove top as well.
Remove the turkey meat and chill both the meat and broth.
Once cool you can skim the fat off of the broth.
In a soup pot on high heat bring the broth up to heat and add
1 cup of diced onion and carrots, salt and pepper to taste.
Stir and cook for 10 minutes at a simmer.
Next add approx. 2-3 cups diced green beans (you can use
frozen), bring up to a simmer, cover and cook for 10-15 minutes.
Add about 3-4 cups diced bite size potatoes, bring up to boil
and cook for 20 minutes or until the potatoes are fork tender.
Add the chopped turkey meat, stir and heat through.
Serving with corn bread. Enjoy.

5 Ingredient Southern Ham, Green Beans and Potatoes Stew Recipe
A delicious 5 ingredient stew loaded with green beans, chunks of ham and tender potatoes that makes for the perfect weekend meal.
The delicious combination of ham and beans has been around for centuries. Whether it’s a dried legume or a fresh green bean, the saltiness from the pork always compliments it to perfection.
This incredibly easy to make homemade Ham Green Beans and Potatoes Stew is a staple and has been made in my family for over 75 years.
Ingredients for this recipe:
• 3-5 pounds of trimmed green beans
• 2 small or 1 large peeled yellow onion
• 1 pound salt pork
• 3 pounds large diced russet potatoes, peelings optional
• 3 pounds ham, cut into 1” cubes
Serves 10
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 5 hours
Procedures:
1. Add the beans, onion and salt pork to an extra-large pot and fill it up with water until the beans are covered by 1 inch.
2. Cook over low to medium heat for 4 hours, remember the longer the better so you can go up to 8 hours here.
3. Add in the potatoes and ham after the 4 hour cooking time and continue to cook for 1 hour or until the potatoes are tender.
4. Season with salt and pepper and serve.
CHEF NOTES:
• All of the cutting techniques for the green beans will render the exact same result so however you do choose to do it, is up to you.
• The longer the stew is cooked, the more flavor comes out.
• Remember you want whole ham, DO NOT buy pre spiralized cut ham.
• REHEATING YOUR HAM GREEN BEANS AND POTATOES STEW: To reheat the stew simply add your desired portion to a small sauce pot and heat over low heat until hot. You can also simply add your desired portion to microwave safe bowl and heat for 2:30 stirring after 1:15.
• STORING AND FREEZING HAM GREEN BEANS AND POTATOES STEW: The ham, green beans and potatoes stew will hold well in the refrigerator covered up for up to 5 days. It will also freeze well covered for up to 3 months. Simply pull it out as you need it and reheat following the directions above.
