How To make Angel Biscuits(For Freezer)
1 package dry yeast
1/4 cup warm water
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 cup sugar
1/2 cup cold butter
*
1 cup buttermilk :
* see note
Dissolve the yeast in warm water and set it aside. Put all the other dry ingre dients, in the order that they are listed, in a bowl and mix. Then cut the but ter into the mixture as you would for pie dough.
Pour the buttermilk and the yeast mixture in the bowl with the other ingredient s, blending well but not overbeating.
Refridgerate until needed, then warm to room temperature to allow it to rise.
When you are ready, gently roll out the dough on a lightly floured board and cu t, using a biscuit cutter or a small glass to cut our biscuits. Put them on a greased pan and let them rise a bit (10 to 15 minutes) before popping them in a n oven heated to 400? for 12 to 15 minutes.
*For buttermilk I always substitute: 1 tablespoon of vinegar into a cup of ordi nary milk and bring to room temp in the microwave. Works great!
*The original recipe calls for shortening but I don't use it.

HOW TO FREEZE & BAKE BUTTERMILK BISCUITS
Get your Updated and Revised edition of Make Ahead Thanksgiving CookBook here:
Looking ahead to the Thanksgiving holiday we are going to take up the make ahead recipes, once again! Last year I published and offered my Make Ahead Thanksgiving cookbooklet and this recipe was included but I had never done a video. So today I fix that and bring this to you. I used my buttermilk biscuit recipe and prepared it to freeze and bake! These can be made now and you will have them ready to bake fresh, hot and ready for your holiday meal! You won't believe how awesome it is to have your own, homemade biscuits in the freezer to pull out anytime you want a warm, buttery side for your breakfast, lunch or dinner.
I used my traditional buttermilk biscuit for this video, but you can use just about any biscuit recipe that you love. I also have a sour cream biscuit recipe that will work great. You can do drop biscuits this way as well. Prepare your biscuit dough as usual then cut out and place on pans that have been lined with parchment. Make sure the pans will fit in your freezer first! Then freeze the biscuits without baking them, until frozen. When the biscuits are frozen solid, which should take up to two hours, pop them into a zip top bag or air tight container and keep them in the freezer for when you are ready to bake.
Place the frozen biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment and bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until the are raised and lightly browned on top. Remove from the oven, brush with melted butter if desired and serve. These can be frozen up to three months ahead of time and baked as needed in any amount desired.
You can find my buttermilk biscuit recipe here:

I am in the process of updating and revising my Make Ahead Thanksgiving Recipe Book. I am adding color photos for each recipe as well as QR codes that you can scan on your phone that will take you directly to each video for the corresponding recipe. That way you can watch and make along with me. Look for the release of the new updated version soon! I am also adding more recipes to help you make your Thanksgiving as easy as possible!
I hope you give this idea for freeze and bake biscuits a try sometime soon and I hope you love it!
Happy Eating!

3-Ingredient Biscuits ????
It’s 3 Ingredient Buttermilk Biscuit time!! I have many memories of Grandma Barb making from-scratch buttermilk biscuits. They were always the last thing made for the meal, and she’d work quickly and effortlessly. Those biscuits were made and placed into the hot oven in under a minute flat and goodness they were heavenly, and still are. She’s good!

Cooking up Southern charm, one recipe at a time.
My name is Monique, and I started Divas Can Cook back in 2009 when I noticed a shortage of authentic Southern recipes like the kind I made with my grandma in her kitchen. I’m talking about that Elberton, Georgia cooking infused with North Carolina Appalachia flare. (Hey, I’m a Southern mountain girl; what can I say!) Authentic golden fried green tomatoes, hamburger steak, cornbread, biscuits and gravy, forgotten tea cakes, and fresh blueberry cobblers are the recipes that feel like home.
This channel is full of authentic Southern family recipes, recipes that I’ve developed and tweaked to perfection, and a few non-traditional ones sprinkled throughout for good luck. I hope that I will not only build your kitchen confidence, but become a trusted source for go-to Southern recipes for you and your family!

Today I'm going to show you how I make the BEST 2 INGREDIENT BISCUIT YOU'LL EVER EAT. Grab your ingredients and cook along with me. RECIPE BELOW
▶︎ SHOP MY FAVORITE PRODUCTS:
Ingredients you'll need:
• 2 - Cups Self Rising Flour (Any brand - I used White Lily)
• 1 1/2 - Cups Heavy Whipping Cream
• Shortening for your Biscuit Pan/Dish
• Wax Paper (Optional)
• Extra Flour for your Biscuit Cutting Surface
Instructions:
• Preheat oven to 450 degrees

• Sift your 2 cups of flour into your mixing bowl (DO NOT PACK YOUR FLOUR WHEN MEASURING)
• Add your heavy whipping cream
• Mix flour and whipping cream until flour is moistened (You can use a mixing spoon or your hands)
• Place wax paper on a table or counter
• Add some flour to wax paper so flour doesn't stick to wax paper
• Knead and fold your dough until you are ready to begin cutting out your biscuits (DO NOT OVER WORK YOUR DOUGH) (DOUGH WILL BE STICKY - THIS IS OKAY!)
• Roll or pat out your biscuit dough to your desired cutting thickness
• Use a cup or biscuit cutter to cut out your biscuits
• Place cut out biscuits in/on your baking pan so they are touching each other (This helps them to rise, instead of spreading out and becoming flat)
• Bake at 450 degrees until top is golden brown & cooked thoroughly (Approximately 15-20 minutes) OVENS VARY
• Serve immediately or until you're ready to eat
ENJOY!
