This is my really simple Beef Stroganoff recipe. Beef Stroganoff is a classic dinner that Chris and I have been making for each other for years, and my recipe is super simple but delicious, creamy and and feels like a real treat! Perfect for date night.
You can serve with rice or pasta. This will make a really delicious and impressive dinner.

Ingredients for the Beef Stroganoff:
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp unsalted butter
1 onion peeled and finely sliced
7 oz (200g) baby chestnut mushrooms thickly sliced
14 oz (400g) fillet or ribeye steak sliced into strips around 1cm thick
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
2 tbsp brandy (optional)
1 cup (240ml) double (heavy) cream
2/3 cup (160ml) sour cream
1/4 tsp paprika

1 lb top sirloin steak
2 Tbsp olive oil
2 Tbsp butter
1/2 medium onion, finely chopped
1/2 lb brown mushrooms, thickly sliced
1 garlic cloves, minced
1 Tbsp all-purpose flour
1 cup beef broth
3/4 cup heavy whipping cream
1/4 cup sour cream
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp dijon mustard
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
Green onion to garnish
8-12 oz Egg noodles, to serve

A simple classic beef Stroganoff, what could be better. This recipe uses beef, sour cream, onions, mushrooms, and garlic. There are many many of making this dish as it has changed some what over the years and depending on the country. Check out a little info below on this wonderful recipe.
Beef Stroganoff or Beef Stroganov (in Russian: Бефстроганов Befstróganov) is a Russian dish of sautéed pieces of beef served in a sauce with smetana (sour cream). From its origins in mid-19th-century Russia, it has become popular around the world, with considerable variation from the original recipe. Various explanations are given for the name, presumably derived from some member of the large and important Stroganov family, perhaps Alexander Grigorievich Stroganoff of Odessa or a diplomat, Count Pavel Stroganov. Elena Molokhovets' classic Russian cookbook A Gift to Young Housewives (1861) gives the first known recipe for Govjadina po-strogonovski, s gorchitseju Beef à la Stroganov, with mustard which involves lightly floured beef cubes (not strips) sautéed, sauced with prepared mustard and bouillon, and finished with a small amount of sour cream: no onions, no mushrooms. A competition purported to have taken place in 1890 is sometimes mentioned in the dish's history, but both the recipe and the name existed before then. Another recipe, this one from 1912, adds onions and tomato paste, and serves it with crisp potato straws, which are considered the traditional side dish in Russia. Stroganoff is also popular in Nordic countries. In Sweden, a common variant is korv-stroganoff (sausage Stroganoff), which uses the local falukorv sausage as a substitute for the beef. In Finland, the dish is called makkarastroganoff, makkara meaning any kind of sausage. Beef Stroganoff is, however, also a common dish. Beef Steak - 500gm
Butter - Around 150gm
All-purpose flour - 45gm
Chopped Onion - 1 Big size
Sour Cream - 200gm
Salt - To Taste
Black Pepper - 1/4 Tsp
Paprika - 1/4 Tsp
Mustard - 1/2 Tsp
Beef Broth - 1 Cup
|Method|
1) Cut the steak in strips. Put a frying pan on low/medium heat. Add in 1 & 1/2 Tbsp butter and fry your beef strips from both sides, until done. Put them aside. Save the juices for sauce.
2) Grab another pan, put in the beef sauce we saved, add 3 Tbsp Butter, let it melt. Then add chopped onion and flour. Mix it well
3) Add Sour Cream. Mix it. Then let it simmer for a few minutes.
4) Add your beef strips. Give it a stir. Add 2 TBSP butter, Salt, Black Pepper, Paprika, and Mustard. Mix it well so all the flavor can be absorbed by the meat. Let is simmer.
5) Optional: You can add Beef broth if your sauce is too thick. After adding beef broth, wait for the water to evaporate, let it simmer for few minutes and your Beef Stroganoff is ready to serve.
6) Serve it over mashed potatoes because that is how Russians like it.

Beef Stroganoff is a Russian dish of sautéed pieces of beef served in beef broth and thick coconut cream. From its origins in mid-19th-century Russia, it has become popular around the world, with considerable variation from the original recipe.
Ingredients
Butter- 1 tbs
Beef- 500 gram
Butter- 1 tbs
Onion- 2 medium size chopped
Garlic- 2 nos chopped
Mushroom - 10 sliced
Salt- 1-2 tsp
Ground mustard seeds- 1/2 tsp
Black pepper powder- 1/2 tsp
Garam masala- 1/2 tsp (optional)
Saute for- 5 min
All purpose flour- 3/4 tsp
Beef Broth- 1 cup
Simmer it for another 5 min
Fresh coconut cream/milk- 3/4 cup
Add the fried Beef
Simmer for another 2 min
Turn off the flame
Curry leaf-optional
Better serve with Pasta/ Palappam.
