How To make Chocolate Spritz
1 1/2 c Butter
1 c Sugar
1/4 c Unsweetened cocoa powder
1 ts Baking powder
1 Egg
1 ts Vanilla
3 1/2 c All-purpose flour
2 oz Semisweet chocolate; cut up
Or green candy coating Disks 2 tb Shortening
Beat butter in a large mixing bowl with an electric mixer on medium speed for 30 seconds. Add sugar and cocoa powder and baking powder and beat well. Add egg and vanilla. Beat till well combined. Beat in as much flour as you can. Stir in any remaining flour with a wooden spoon. Do not chill dough. Pack dough into a cookie press. Force dough through press onto ungressed cookie sheet. Bake in a 375 oven for 8 to 10 minutes or till edges of cookies are firm but not brown. Remove cookies and cool on wire racks. Melt together chocolate or candy coating and shortening in a small heavy saucepan. Place cookies on waxed paper, drizzle with the melted mixture. Let stand till drizzle is set. Makes about 84. Chocolate Raspberry Spritz Cookies
Spritz cookies are a real treat and always delight as a snack or at a party or event, Chocolate Raspberry Spritz Cookies takes the spritz cookie to the next level. Made with butter, flour, sugar and egg yolks, these cookies have wonderful additions of raspberry flavoring and dark cocoa powder. The raspberry and cocoa flavors provide a richness and incredible depth to the over flavor profile of the cookies. What more could one ask for in a spritz cookie that is aesthetically appealing as well as simply delicious! I urge you to try this recipe and don't forget the cookie press.
Here is the recipe:
226g/ 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter (soft)
133g/ 2/3 cup granulated sugar
312g/ 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
50g/ 1/3 cup cocoa powder
8g/ 2 tsp whole milk
1g/ 1/4 tsp salt
4g/ 1 tsp vanilla
2 egg yolks
6g/ 1.5 tsp raspberry flavoring
Use a cookie press to transfer cookies to an ungreased baking sheet
Chilling the dough before baking is not necessary.
Bake @ 350F/176C for 8 minutes (ovens vary)
Feel free to decorate cookies with melted chocolate or your favorite sprinkles. Let your creativity shine with these cookies!
