How To make Cracked Wheat Bread
1/2 c Cracked wheat
1 1/2 c Boiling water
1 pk Dry yeast
1/3 c Warm water
1/4 c Shortening
1 1/2 ts Salt
2 tb Molasses
2 tb Honey
1 c Warm water
1 c Wholewheat flour
4 c All-purpose flour
Cook cracked wheat in the boiling water for 10 minutes, till all the water is absorbed. Dissolve yeast in 1/3 c of warm water & let proof. Stir together shortening, salt, molasses, honey & the rest of the water & add to cracked wheat. Stir in the flours a little at a time. When the dough is stiff, turn out onto a floured board & knead for 10 minutes, use extra flour if necessary. Shape into a ball, place in oiled bowl, cover & let rise till doubled. Punch down & shape into 2 loaves. Let rise till doubled. Bake at 375F for 30 to 35 minutes. Cool on racks. "Beard on Bread"

This easy and simple breakfast or dinner made with Cracked wheat, urad dal and plenty of vegetables is so easy, healthy and tastes delicious. You can use any vegetables but avoid using veggies with water content like cucumber, ashgourd etc (dalia in Hindi, samba godhumai ravai in tamil).

1 cup cracked wheat
3 tbsp urad dal
ginger, gr chillies, coriander leaves, veggies, salt
