THE BEST KEY LIME PIE RECIPE EVER !
THE BEST KEY LIME PIE RECIPE EVER !
Ingredients:
1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs (or crushed digestive biscuits for our British friends)
6 tablespoons melted butter (preferably from a tropical island, for extra flavor)
1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk (for a dose of sweetness)
4 large egg yolks (they're the stars of this pie, not the whites)
½ cup freshly squeezed key lime juice (or regular lime juice if you can't find the keys)
Zest of 2 key limes (because zesty pies are the best pies)
Whipped cream for topping (because everything is better with a cloud of whipped goodness)
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (or whatever temperature your oven thinks is cool).
In a bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter. Mix them together until they're as crumbly and buttery as a dysfunctional detective movie.
Press the crumbly mixture into the bottom of a pie dish. Use the back of a spoon or your hands to firmly press it down, imagining you're squishing all your worries away.
Bake the crust in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes, or until it turns golden brown and smells like a tropical vacation. Remove it from the oven and let it cool down while you work on the filling.
In another bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, egg yolks, key lime juice, and zest. Mix them until they're all buddies and the mixture is smooth and creamy like a jazz ensemble.
Pour the filling into the cooled crust, making sure it's spread out evenly. Give it a little shake to get rid of any air bubbles, just like shaking off your worries after a long day.
Bake the pie for around 15-20 minutes, or until the centre is set but still slightly jiggly, like a well-executed dance move. Remove it from the oven and let it cool to room temperature.
Once it's cool, refrigerate the #pie for at least 2 hours, or until it's chilled and ready to be devoured. Patience is a virtue, and deliciousness is its reward.
Just before serving, generously dollop whipped cream on top of the pie. You can get creative with the design if you're feeling fancy or just plop it on like a cloud of deliciousness.
Slice and serve your #keylimepie to the #lucky folks around you. Sit back, enjoy their #smiles, and revel in the fact that you just made a pie that could make even the grumpiest of #souls crack a grin.
Remember, a key lime pie tastes even better when shared with good company and served with a side of laughter. Bon appétit!
Peggy's Key Lime Pie
Lisa's whipping up Key Lime Pie. Sometimes she has fresh limes on hand and sometimes the bottled juice. Sometimes she has ready made store bought Graham Crust and sometimes she makes that kind of crust. Other times she has made regular pie crust and made little tart size handheld pies. Each video recipe is different with these variations on the theme.
Healthy Dessert Option
In this video I explain how to make the Greenberry Shakeology Key Lime Pie. Obviously this won't taste exactly like a perfect Key Lime Pie, but it is pretty damn yummy! Great way to feed you and your friends who care about what is going in to their bodies!

Simple Key Lime Pie Recipe
Lisa makes delicious pastries often in her spare time. She loves it. I love it. Our friends love it.
Therefore, I decided to make a video about it????
INGREDIENTS
- 1 1/4 cups (310 ml) graham cracker crumbs
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) sugar
- 1 cup (250 ml) lime or key lime juice
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) cornstarch
- 1 can 300 ml sweetened condensed milk
- Grated zest of 1 lime
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) 35% cream
- 2 eggs
- 1 3/4 cups (430 ml) 35% cream
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) icing sugar
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Crust
With the rack in the middle position, preheat the oven to 180 °C (350 °F).
In a bowl, combine all the ingredients. Press into a 23-cm (9-inch) pie plate. Bake for about 10 minutes. Set aside.
2. Filling
In a saucepan, off the heat, mix lime juice and cornstarch with a whisk. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring and scraping the bottom of the pan, until it thickens. Pour filling into crust. Refrigerate for about three hours or until completely cooled.
3. Whipped Cream
In a bowl, beat all the ingredients with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form.
Garnish the pie with the whipped cream.
