Japan: The Cookbook | Nancy Hachisu | Talks at Google
Although a native Californian, Nancy Singleton Hachisu moved to Japan over 30 years ago and has been living there with her husband and three sons. She fell in love with traditional Japanese cuisine and decided to write a cookbook filled with her favorite recipes. Her first one entitled “Japanese Farm Food”, Nancy shares her personal stories and passion with one hundred and sixty five seasonal dishes. In Nancy’s second cookbook, “Preserving the Japanese Way”, she introduces Japanese Methods to cooking, that are not only approachable, but unique. Today, we will learn about Nancy’s third book, which includes over 400 recipes called Japan: The Cookbook.

Ultimate Budget Jet Boil Alternative? Cooking at Iconic Lands End with My Greyhound (Planet X 900)
Today Miss Nancy and I are at the iconic Land’s End in Cornwall, the most westerly point in England, testing out my new Planet X 900 camping stove. I think this is a cool budget option instead of a jet boil and I’ll show you what’s included and how easy I, the worlds biggest klutz, found it to use! I tested out some camp cooking whipping up a fancy pot noodle, and we explored some of this incredible coastline meeting pigs and wild ponies along the way.
Noodle recipe:
Dried noodles
Carrot, spring greens, spring onions and cashews
Veg stock, Chinese five spice, chilli flakes, garlic powder
Dark soya, light soya, sesame oil, agave, rice vinegar
Water

A little about us: I adopted my ex-racing greyhound Miss Nancy three years ago, it was a massive learning curve for both of us and we have become the best of friends, who love going on outdoor adventures, wild swims, van camping and finding vegan food out and about! We make videos showing what it’s like to have a greyhound as a pet, the beautiful outdoors, vanlife, and life with a greyhound!
When we aren’t making videos I am a jeweller and illustrator, you can check out my work here:
