This was the very first video we uploaded, way back in May 2007. We got 24 views the day we uploaded Pasta & Peas, and they were probably all friends and family. We we happy that our families recipes were being preserved for our future generations and figured that's where it would all end. Nana has obviously touched more hearts besides our own and we are so happy that she continues to teach her lessons from the past and offer help to anyone who wants to listen.

Peas and Pasta | Creamy Delicious Pasta Recipe
SUPER CREAMY PEAS AND PASTA ITALIAN RECIPE
Peas and Pasta (Pasta e Piselli) Italian Recipe is one of the family's favorite meal in Italy. It is very simple and easy to make for less than 30 minutes.It requires only 5 main ingredients and can use either fresh or convenient frozen green peas.
So if you want a delicious pasta dish ready in no time, this quick Italian recipe is for you!
HOW TO MAKE PEAS AND PASTA RECIPE
INGREDIENTS:
*400 g. green peas
*2 medium sized eggs
*100 g. grated cheese (Pecorino Romano)
*1 medium onion
*400 g. pasta (mezze penne rigate type pasta)
*3-4 tbsp. olive oil
*pepper
*salt
METHODS:
-Cut onion into pieces
-Heat 3-4 tbsps. olive oil in a medium sized pan
-Add chopped onions,saute until it appears transparent
-Add the green peas
-Prepare a hot water ready and keep it on the side
-Put a hot water in sauteed green peas as it will be used to soften the peas
-In my case,I used a small blender/grinder to grind well the cooked green peas
-Use strainer to drain the peas,then set aside the skin from the creamy paste
-Just leave the creamy paste to make the sauce later
-In a small bowl,beat 2 eggs
-Put the grated Pecorino Romano cheese and mix these two very well.Set aside.
-Heat the green peas creamy paste in a pan
-Then add the penne pasta.Cook into prepared creamy paste sauce
-Add some hot water if necessary to cook the pasta.
-Add salt
-Once pasta is cooked into sauce,add the cheese and egg mixture.
-Add a pinch of pepper.
And its ready to serve!!Enjoy!!

Pasta e Piselli (Pasta with Peas)
Pasta e Piselli, pasta with peas. A classic Neapolitan dish that is easy to make and comes together quick. Simple ingredients and is the definition of “cucina povera” I stuck with a more traditional take on this recipe with a meatless version, but feel free to add pancetta, ham, bacon or prosciutto. This is perfect for a weeknight pasta dish and the sweetness of the peas, saltiness of the cheese and the hint of mint is just a perfect combination. I have to keep telling myself that simple is always best. The Italians are the best at that.
PASTA WITH PEAS (PASTA E PISELLI)
Recipe by Mark Calaminici | Food Loves Company
Serves 4
Ingredients
¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
120g or 1 cup white onion, finely chopped
300g or 2 cups frozen or fresh peas
Salt, to taste
Freshly cracked pepper, to taste
Chili flakes, to taste
6-8 large mint leaves, torn or chiffonade
500g pasta, short pasta like ditali, reserve pasta water
1 wedge of lemon
80g Pecorino Romano
Method
1. In a large pan on medium heat, add extra virgin olive oil and onions. Saute until onions are very tender and translucent. This may take about 10 minutes.
2. As the onions saute, salt a large pot of boiling water and add pasta. Cook the pasta until half way, as we will finish cooking it in the pan. Reserve pasta water.
3. Add the peas to the pan with the onions along with 1-2 ladles of pasta water. Season with salt, freshly cracked pepper and chili flakes to taste.
4. Add the pasta and finish cooking the pasta in the pan with the peas, adding more pasta water, mixing and tossing along the way. You can enjoy this dish a couple different ways, as you as you can have more of a soupy consistency, just by adding more pasta water. Add the mint and lemon and continue to mix and cook.
5. Remove the pan from the heat or turn off the heat and add the Pecorino Romano a handful at a time, mixing and tossing to incorporate it into the pasta to form a creamy sauce. The cheese will soak up a lot of the liquid so if you are looking for a soupy constituency add more pasta water. Garnish with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, Pecorino Romano and freshly cracked pepper. Enjoy!

I'm sure that everyone will love today's recipe, since it's a rich first course, tasty and easy to make: pasta with ham, peas and cream. Let's see how to do! We'll need:
• 14 oz (400 g) of short pasta
• just over 1 cup (150 g) of frozen peas
• 4,2 oz (120 g) of ham
• just under ½ cup (100 ml) of heavy cream • 1 pinch of nutmeg / pepper to taste / salt
• 1/3 stick (40 g) of butter
• 2 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil
Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a pan, then add the peas. Stir well, add a bit of hot water, cover with a lid and cook on a low flame.
Melt the butter in a non-stick pan, add the diced ham and let it brown. Then add the cream, the ground pepper, the nutmeg, finally the peas and salt to taste.
Boil the pasta and drain al dente, then toss in the pan with the sauce.
Here's our pasta with ham, peas and cream... good, easy and quick!
