How To make Sour Cream Cherry Coffee Cake
WALDINE VAN GEFFEN VGHC42A:
1/4 lb Unsalted butter
1 c Granulated sugar
2 lg Eggs
1 c Fat-free sour cream
2 c All-purpose flour
1 ts Baking powder
1 ts Baking soda
1/4 ts Salt
1 ts Pure vanilla extract
1 tb Lemon zest; chop fine
1/2 c Best quality cherry preserve
Preheat oven to 350~. Butter 2 (8") square cake pans. In a large mixer bowl, beat butter with sugar until well combined. Add eggs 1 at a time and beat well. Add sour cream and mix thoroughly. In a small bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture. Batter will be stiff. Stir in the vanilla, zest and preserves. I especially like to serve it on special occasions as part of a breakfast or brunch menu, although it really is perfect any time of the day. It consists of two layers of a rich almond flavored butter cake sandwiched together with a layer of sweet red canned cherries. A sprinkling of flaked or sliced almonds is the ideal garnish. You can serve this cake warm, at room temperature, or even cold.

Sour Cherry Coffee Cake
Ingredients
Crumb Topping:
1 cup granulated sugar
½ cup all purpose flour
1 tsp cinnamon
½ cup unsalted butter
in food processor just make a small coarse crumbs.
Cake:
2 large eggs
3/4 cup canola oil of oil of choice
1/2 cup yogurt
1 tablespoons lemon juice
1 cup granulated sugar
1 & 1/2 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt (forgot to mention in the video)
2 cups fresh sour cherries
1 tablespoon flour
1 tablespoon sugar
coat cherries
Bake preheated oven to 350F for 50-55 min.
Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 teaspoons milk
After baking the cake cool to room temperature. Then drizzle this glaze on the top.
Best cake ever.

Grandma's Cookbook - Sour Cream Coffee Cake
Recipe as written:
Nut filling and topping
1 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
3/4 cup cup firmly packed, dark brown sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
CAKE BATTER
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 Tbs. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 16 ounce container sour cream (about 1 3/4 cups)
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preheat oven to 325. Grease 9in tube pan. To prepare nut filling, in a small bowl, combine walnuts, brown sugar and cinnamon; mix well and set aside. To prepare cake, in a medium bowl; sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; set aside. In a large bowl, with electric mixer on a low speed or with a wooden spoon, beat sugar and eggs until well blended. Beat in sour cream and vanilla. Add half of the flour mixture, beating until smooth. Fold in remaining flour mixture.
Pour half of the cake batter into pan; sprinkle evenly with half of the nut mixture.
Spoon in remaining batter. Top with remaining nut mixture.
With a knife, cut into batter to marble in nut topping. Bake 65-70 minutes or until cake tester inserted in center comes out clean. Remove outer rim of the pan; allow to cool completely. Remove cake from tube onto serving plate.
