Apple pie is a snap when using ready-to-bake pie crust from Pillsbury! Salted caramel and apples are topped with a crumbly, brown sugar-oatmeal streusel and baked to perfection in this easy-to-make slab pie that is sure to be a crowd-pleaser.
Recipe:
Ingredients
Streusel
1 1/4 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
1 1/4 cups old-fashioned oats
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup cold butter, cut in pieces
Crust
1 box Pillsbury™ refrigerated pie crusts, softened as directed on box
Filling
9 cups sliced peeled apples (9 medium)
1/2 cup salted caramel sauce
1/4 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Serve-Withs, If Desired
Vanilla ice cream and additional salted caramel sauce
Steps
1. Heat oven to 400°F. In large bowl, mix 1 1/4 cups flour, the oats and brown sugar until blended. Cut in cold butter, using fork or pastry blender, until mixture is crumbly. (Do not overmix.) Set aside.
2. Remove pie crusts from pouches. On lightly floured surface, unroll and stack crusts one on top of the other. Roll to 17x12-inch rectangle. Fit crust into ungreased 15x10x1-inch pan, pressing firmly into corners and sides. Fold extra crust under, even with edges of pan. Flute or crimp edges.
3. In large bowl, stir Filling ingredients until well coated. Spread evenly in pan. Sprinkle streusel over top of apples.
4. Bake 38 to 43 minutes or until crust and topping are golden brown and filling is bubbly. Cool at least 20 minutes before cutting. Cut into 6 rows by 4 rows. Serve with ice cream, and drizzle with additional caramel sauce.

In a bowl mix together flour, sugar and salt.
Using a pastry cutter or a fork, cut the butter into the mixture until the mixture is crumbly and fairly even-textured. There will be a few larger chunks. I like to mix it with hand too.
Add water and form a dough.
Wrap dough in plastic wrap, flatten it into disc and refrigerate for 1 hour.
Lightly grease and flour 10(25 cm) baking dish.
Roll out the chilled pie dough. Place the dough into prepared baking dish and press the edges. Cut the excess dough. Pinch the edges and poke the dough with a fork to create air pockets.
Peel and grate the apples.
Add light brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and lemon juice to a bowl with apples. Stir well to combine.
For the crumble, combine flour, light brown sugar and butter. Mix with a fork until crumbly.
Preheat the oven to 350 F (180 C).
Spoon and press the apple filling to the side of a bowl to squeeze out some of the liquid and place the filling into the crust.
Sprinkle the crumble over the apples.
REFRIGERATE PIE FOR 15 MINUTES BEFORE BAKING!
Bake in preheated oven for 55-60 minutes or until lightly browned on top.
Allow the pie to cool for minimum 3 hours before serving.
Serve with vanilla ice cream.
This pie is the best cold, from the refrigerator.
