How To make Sweet And Sour Meat Loaf
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 cup dry bread crumbs
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 eggs
1 teaspoon instant minced onion

1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce :
divided
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons vinegar
2 teaspoons prepared mustard
Mix together beef, bread crumbs, salt, pepper and eggs. Add onion and half of the tomato sauce. Form into a loaf in a 9-in x 5-in x 3-in pan. Bake at 350F for 50 minutes. In saucepan, combine sugars, vinegar, mustard and remaining tomato sauce. Bring to a boil. Pour over meat loaf; bake 10 minutes more.
YIELD: 6 servings

However, I don't think you need it! My kids love this without it - and if anyone would NEED the ketchup, it would be kids!
This is one of my dump freezer meal recipes that you can just dump raw ingredients into a bag and freeze for later, or just dump into a bowl, mix, and make tonight for dinner.
I also show you how to add a side dish of some simple roasted diced sweet potatoes to make it a complete dinner that's mainly hands-off (go do things you WANT to do rather than just cooking).

Fried pork and crunchy veggies served in a sweet and tangy sauce, this dish is delicious, easy to make, and uses easy-to-find ingredients! I also make the sauce from scratch!

INGREDIENTS:
Vegetables
- 100 g green bell pepper
- 100 g yellow onion
- 75 g carrot
Pork
- 200 g pork belly
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 pinch black pepper
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 pasteurized egg yolk
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- cooking oil - for frying
Sauce
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- ½ tbsp sake
- 2 tbsp white sugar
- 3 tbsp water
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- ½ tsp Chinese-style chicken bouillon powder
- ½ tsp cornstarch
- ½ tsp white sesame seeds - to garnish

Recipe for Homemade sweet and tangy meatloaf
you will need :
Ground beef – use 90% lean.
Herbs – a mixture of dried parsley and Italian seasoning.
Spices – paprika, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.
Worcestershire sauce
Onion – make sure to finely dice it and the tinier the better.
Garlic – for the best flavor use fresh garlic and mince it!
Bread crumbs – use plain or flavored or crumble up bread crumbs
Milk – for a denser texture use half and half. I used 2%
Egg
Cheddar cheese or cheese of your choice – the recipe can be made without the cheese as well!
You can add cheese in the middle of your meatloaf but you can skip this step
SWEET and TANGY SAUCE
Ketchup – use your favorite brand, actually, replace it with BBQ sauce if you don’t have ketchup on hand.
Tomato paste
Brown sugar
Sweet chili sauce
Mustard – honey mustard
Apple cider vinegar

There are many sweet and sour sauce variations around and many ways to make it. I will show you a way which makes a perfect sweet and sour sauce every time. This sauce can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge – it can be frozen-thawed and used. This sauce takes your sweet and sour Chinese or any sweet and sour dishes to a new level.
A must-try if you do not believe – this is fail-safe and is fully adjustable if you want to go sourer or sweeter that is up to you.

Ingredients
3 cups of water
Juice of 1 orange about 50 – 60 ml.
¾ cup of sugar
¼ cup ketchup
5 – 6 tbsp apple cider vinegar – some kinds of vinegar are more potent than others
Good ½ tbsp dark soy sauce
Red food colour – optional up to you but every takeaway uses it.
Cornstarch water for slurry mixed at 1 tbsp cornstarch 3 tbsp water.
Now at the taste and adjust stage - dont forget this is straight from the pan and not cooked in the final dish. You may think its too sour and go over board with the sugar or you may think its too sweet etc - its NOT this works just adjust a little.
