Taco Salad Recipe
Ingredients:
1 half of lettuce sliced
Pico de Gallo (Half of purple onion chopped, ½ Cup of Cilantro Chopped, and 2 Roma tomatoes cut into chunks)
Sour cream for topping
3 Cheese Mexican Blend
Squeeze of lime juice for topping
Your favorite salsa
Black Olives sliced
1 bag of your favorite tortilla chips
1 ½ pound of Ground Beef
3 cups of cooked Pinto Beans smashed
1 tbsp of Chili powder
1 tbsp of Dried Oregano
1 tsp of Ground Cumin
2 large garlic cloves chopped
Salt and Pepper to taste
(optional Avocado slices or Guacamole)
Prep all your ingredients.
In one skillet, heat up your pinto beans. Once heated smash the beans and allow the juices to evaporate to where you have creamy beans.
In another skillet, crumble your ground into some Olive Oil. Add your garlic, salt, pepper, chili powder, dried oregano, and cumin. Cook for 7-8 mins and break up the meat as it cooks. Then remove enough fat juices from the skillet. Leave a little for flavor.
In a plate or bowl, lay down a layer of tortilla chips, beans, ground beef, lettuce, sour cream, cheese, olives, pico de gallo, salsa and squeeze of lemon.
Ready to serve
Enjoy!

Rachel’s “Fancy” Layered Taco Salad Recipe
Rachel’s “Fancy” Layered Taco Salad Recipe
It’s time to have a little FUN! Sure we could set out a big ol’ bowl of taco salad for the family this weekend that’d make everyone perfectly happy… but sometimes it’s worth the effort to create something a little more special.
Besides that, this trifle bowl just sits in my cabinet for many months looking back at me and wondering when she gets to be the sparkling center of attention again or just collect dust. “That’s no way to live,” (I think to myself) “Ok gorgeous, it’s time to come out and play… do your thing, I’m counting on you to make me look GOOD!”
Layered salads look fancy, but they’re REALLY SIMPLE. My favorite type of life hacks around here! All the credit and applause with minimal effort. ☺️
To assemble your Layered Taco Salad, use a large clear glass trifle bowl with straight sides as shown to create this beautiful layered look.
There’s no doubt – we first eat with our eyes!
Those BRIGHT layers just beg to be devoured!????
Feel free to make substitutions with what YOU have on hand, what’s in season, or whatever taco toppings YOUR family loves best.
Get CREATIVE and have lots of FUN with this one!
Even though you may be tempted to mix it all together right before serving, don’t. Instead, serve with a long deep spoon or tongs, and let everyone scoop out what they want.
What’s really in those seasoning packets?!????
I love to mix up my own seasonings with organic spices because those little packets of taco seasoning are usually made with canola and soybean oils linked to inflammation, sugar, anti-caking agents, and natural flavors.
Not to mention making my own taco seasonings actually tastes better too!
This recipe includes the BEST Homemade Taco Seasoning Mix
You’ll never purchase those store-bought packets again, after making it yourself!!
So simple, delicious, and lasts for several months – so double or triple this recipe and keep it handy in a small glass container near your stove.
Crunchy Taco Salad
Crunchy Taco Salad
1 pound hamburger
1 (1.12 oz) packet Taco Seasoning
1 small head lettuce, chopped
1 large tomato, chopped
1 large onion, chopped
1 (15 oz) can red kidney beans
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
14 oz. bag of Doritos, crunched into small pieces
16 oz. bottle Kraft Catalina Salad Dressing
Brown hamburger and drain well. Add taco seasoning and stir. Let the meat cool while you chop the lettuce, tomato, and onion. Drain and rinse kidney beans. Combine all of this in a large bowl.
Stir in the cheese, crunched up Doritos, and the salad dressing. Serve immediately.
