Amish Friendship Bread with Apples & Nuts FAIL!!!!
This was a big fail as far as the looks of this bread goes. It actually tastes really good, and is sweet enough once it is cooled completely. I will not be using the cinnamon & sugar on top ever again, it just burns. Actually I should have known better. lol The baking temp called for 325°, I will be reducing that to 300° the next time.
Recipe
Bowl 1 Wet ingredients
1 cup Starter
3 eggs
1 cup of oil
1/2 cup milk
1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
(apples and nuts optional)
Bowl 2 Dry Ingredients
2 cups flour
1 pkg vanilla pudding
2 tsp cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
mix both thoroughly then add wet ingredients to dry ingredients. mix until jist.combined. pour into 2 prepared loaf pans (baking spray) The recipe said 325° for 1 hour but I will be baking it at 300° and start checking it at an hour.

Slowly stir in 1 cup milk and dissolved yeast mixture. Place in plastic one gallon zip lock bag and let stand at room temperature until bubbly consider this Day 1 of the 10-day cycle.
For the next 10 days handle starter as follows or if you are given a bag from a friend.
Day 2: Mush the bag
Day 3: Mush the bag
Day 4: Mush the bag
Day 5: Add 1 C flour, 1 C sugar, 1 Cup milk..stir. Mush the bag
Day 6: Mush the bag
Day 7: Mush the bag
Day 8: Mush the bag
Day 9: Mush the bag
Day 10: Pour the entire contents of the bag into a nonmetal bowl, add 1 1/2 cup flour, 1 1/2 cup sugar and 1 1/2 cup milk. Measure out 4 separate batters of cup each into 4 gallon ziplock bags. Keep a starter for you and give the other three to friend along with a copy of the recipe. If you do not pass the bag onto a friend on the first day, be certain to them which day the bag is at when you present it to them. It is helpful to date the bag on the first day. If you keep a starter for yourself you can have bread every ten days.

If you want a little healthy version swap out ½ cup oil plus ½ cup applesauce or 1 egg plus ¼ cup mashed banana. Reduce sugar to ⅔ cup or replace with ⅔ cup honey.
