Comforting Wonton Soup
Follow Jasmine:
This was always one of my favorite soups to order from my local Chinese restaurant growing up and now I like to make it at home!
The most important component here is the broth–it’s the base of the soup so it makes or breaks the dish! I HIGHLY recommend making homemade chicken broth. If you only have boxed chicken broth, add a bouillon cube for extra flavor. Or, even better, add chopped raw chicken with bones to the broth and simmer for a while for extra flavor.

Pan-Fried Wontons - A common favorite, easier than you think!
Material Needed:
- Frozen wontons
- Nonstick Pan
- Frying Pan Lid
- A little bit of Oil (ex : Canola)
- ∼ 100 ml of water for 15 wontons (for the 2nd step)
Steps:
- Put frozen wontons directly on oil covered pan. Stove to medimum-high until wonton skin becomes crispy.
- If crispy to your liking, add water and cover or flip wontons and continue frying for more crispyness.
- Add water to the pan and cover it. Cook for 6-7 minutes.
- Open lid and lower stove to low. Cook until pan is dry.
- Turn off the stove and transfer the wontons on a plate.
- Dip the wontons in a dipping sauce of your choice. We highly recommend our Teochew Foodie vinegar dipping sauce.
