How To make Buttered Rum Coffee
Ingredients
1/3
cup
coffee, ground
1/4
teaspoon
nutmeg, freshly ground
1 1/4
teaspoon
rum extract
1/8
teaspoon
liquid butter flavoring
Directions:
Place coffee and nutmeg in a blender or food processor fitted with a steel blade. In a cup, combine remaining ingredients. With processor running, add flavorings. Stop processor and scrape sides of container with a spatula.
Process 10 seconds longer. Store in refrigerator.
Yields: Mix for eight 6-ounce servings

Hot Toddy/Whiskey Skin:
Built in glass
2 oz. or 60 ml. Bourbon (Yellowstone)
2 barspoons of sugar
3 oz. or 90 ml. Hot water
Twist of lemon
Irish Coffee:
Build in glass
3 oz. or 90 ml. Coffee
1 barspoon brown sugar
1 barspoon cane sugar
1.5 oz. or 45 ml. Irish Whiskey (Green Spot)
Dry shake some heavy cream
Float cream on top of the drink
Hot Buttered Rum:
Build in glass
2 barspoons of sugar
2 oz. -or- 60 ml. Fat washed rum**
4 oz. -or- 120 ml. hot water
Garnish with star anise and a cinnamon stick
**Fat washed rum:
Melt 250 grams of butter until it is brown
Pour bottle of Rum into large container (I used Appleton Estate here)
Add browned butter
Use immersion blender to mix
Put mixture into the freezer (the butter will form a puck on top of the rum)
Poke a hole in this puck and pour your rum through a coffee filter or strainer

Build in glass in as equal parts as possible
Layer 1 - Grenadine
Layer 2 - Blue Curaçao (Giffords)
Layer 3 - Midori
Layer 4 - Amaro Nonino
Layer 5 - Amaro Di Angostura
Layer 6 - Chartreuse
Layer 7 - Fernet Branca

Treat yourself to a dense, creamy Buttered Rum Coffee.
Ingredients for 1 portion
Essential:
60 ml (2 fl oz)- espresso or coffee
50 ml (1 ⅔ fl oz)- rum
20g (⅔ oz)- butter
60 ml (2 fl oz)- heavy cream
Method:
1. Brew the espresso/coffee in any preferred way.
2. Put the coffee and all the ingredients in a blender or food processor.
3. Whisk until smooth. Serve.

Ingredients:
- 2 teaspoons butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons powdered sugar
- 1 shot (1.5 ounces) dark rum
- Pinch of ground cinnamon
- Pinch of ground nutmeg
- 1 cup hot whole milk
Directions:
In a coffee mug, stir butter, brown sugar and powdered sugar until combined.
Add hot milk, rum, cinnamon and nutmeg. Stir well to combine. Garnish with cinnamon stick and/or star anise.
