How To make Cherry Turnovers's Videos
Fast and Easy Cherry Turnovers
These cherry turnovers are so easy to make. What makes them so fast is the fact that you can buy the cherry pie filling and puff pastry in the grocery store so there is no additional fuss or muss. The most difficult part is allowing the pastry to thaw. I often make them up for dinner parties and they are great for afternoon tea or coffee. Believe me, your family and friends will love them.
I use pistachios in the recipe, but it is completely up to you. You can use walnuts, pecans or leave the nuts out completely. I just like the additional crunch the nuts add to the turnovers. In this recipe, we simply add a dusting of confectioner's sugar to the turnovers, but a glaze could be made up as well. Both provide a touch more sweetness to the dish, as I find the pie filling is not quite sweet enough for a dessert. A bit of sugar could also be added to the cherry pie filling too.

The Easiest 3 Ingredient Turnovers
1 box Puff Pastry Dough
1 can Pie filling of your choice
Egg wash (1 large egg + 1 tsp water)
1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (205°C) and prep a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Roll out a sheet of thawed puff pastry dough and then cut it into 4 squares.
3. Next, scoop roughly 3 tablespoons of pie filling in the middle of each square.
4. Brush your egg wash onto 2 of the edges of the puff pastry (making an L shape) so that they can be folded over and sealed together, forming a triangle. Use a fork to press the edges together and puncture holes in the middles. Brush tops with egg wash.
5. Place prepared turnovers onto the parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
