Making The Sims' monte cristo sandwich!
This time I'm making The Sims' monte cristo sandwich! Can it really be that easy?
✨Recipe:
½ cup whole milk
2 large eggs
8 slices sandwich bread
4 slices Swiss cheese
8 slices thin-cut deli honey ham
8 slices thin-cut deli roasted turkey breast
4 slices Cheddar cheese
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
⅓ cup confectioners' sugar
1 cup seedless raspberry jam
1. In a medium bowl, whisk together milk and eggs. Set aside.
2. Top each of 4 bread slices with 1 slice Swiss, 2 slices ham, 2 slices turkey, and 1 slice Cheddar. Top with remaining bread.
3. Heat a large nonstick skillet or griddle over medium heat and add butter. Once melted, tilt pan or griddle to evenly coat.
4. Dip sandwiches into egg mixture, making sure both sides are evenly coated, until bread is well soaked but not soggy. Place sandwiches onto prepared skillet and cook 3-5 minutes until golden brown.
5 Flip sandwich and cook 3-5 minutes until golden brown on other side and cheese is melted. If cheese is not melted, turn heat to low and continue to cook, flipping sandwich every 30 seconds until cheese is melted.
6. Remove from heat and let cool for 1 minute before serving. To serve, slice sandwiches into triangles and arrange on a serving platter. Dust with sugar and serve with jam on the side for dipping. Serve warm.
