How To make Dutch Pancakes with Spicy Apples
Pancakes: 6 Eggs
1 c All-purpose flour
2 tb Granulated sugar
1 c Milk
Spicy apple topping: 1/4 c Margarine
1 tb Cornstarch; mixed with
2 tb Cold water
1/3 c Brown sugar, packed
1 ts Ground cinnamon
3 md Red apples; cored, sliced
1/2 c Light sour cream
3 tb Powdered sugar
Recipe by: Country Folk Art Magazine, September 1995 Pancakes: Preheat the oven to 400 degrees; spray a 10-inch round oven-safe skillet with nonstick cooking spray. Beat the eggs. Mix in the flour, sugar and milk. Pour the mixture into the pan and bake for 15 minutes. Reduce the heat to 325 degrees and bake for 40 to 45 minutes longer. Remove immediately and cut into wedges. Top with spicy apples. Spicy Apple Topping: Melt the margarine in a skillet and add the cornstarch mixture, brown sugar and cinnamon. Stir until thickened. Add the apples and cook until crisp-tender. Spoon over the pancakes. Combine the sour cream and powdered sugar. Add a dollop to each serving. Garnish with pansies or dianthus. Serve with sausage. Penny Halsey (ATBN65B). Hello Everyone!
Sharing you guys one of my favorite Breakfast/Brunch Pancakes recipe. You’ll never wanna have any other pancakes after you try these lol
If you know me and follow me on my instagram or Facebook you’ll know that I make these pancakes almost every weekend. This is actually my daughter Abby and I favorite. We cannot decide which one we like that is why I always end up making both Apples and Strawberry.
If you want to make just the Apple or just the strawberry you can just cut the batter recipe in half. You can also use other fruits like banana, blueberry etc. if you want to cook any fruits add it same time you add the batter otherwise use fresh fruits and add it after the pancakes are cooked like I did with fresh Strawberry.
The secret to for making your pancakes puff is making sure all the ingredients are at room temperature or the batter is at room temperature and the pan needs to be really hot! You can also make the batter a day before and refrigerate but make sure to take it out of the fridge an hour or two before baking.
Use any heavy bottom pan you have but cast iron is the best way in my opinion.

Dutch Baby Pancakes
Ingredients:
Milk 245g ( 1 cup) room temp.
Heavy cream 61g (1/4 cup) room temp.
Whole Eggs 7 each room temp.
Salt 7g (1 tspn.)
Sugar 40g (1 Tblspns & 1 tspn)
Lemon zest 1 each
Butter 2 oz. ( 1/4 cup)
All purpose flour 186g (1 cup & 3 Tblspn)
Honey butter: z.
Raw honey 25g (1 Tblspn)
Butter room soft. 100g 1/2 cup
Salt 1g (pinch)
Apple filling:
Apples sliced 2 each
Lemon juice 5g (juice of 1/2 lemon)
Ground cinnamon 1/4 tspn
Salt pinch
Fresh strawberry sliced for topping
Note:
Do not open the oven when the pancakes are still cooking ( I only open it for you guys to see when it’s ready but usually I keep it close until it’s done.
Brush with honey butter right away while the pancakes are still hot.

Make ahead tip. The batter can be made up to 12 hours in advance. Refrigerate and reblend before baking.
Assembling:

Apple Dutch Baby | AKA German Pancakes
This costs almost nothing to make and feeds 2-4 people. Grant and I each devoured half and were stuffed. I watched a few Youtube videos on how to make these delightful Dutch babies and came up with this version, but they are all very similar. You can substitute milk for half and half.
