Chili Cheeseburgers on the Griddle (with Homemade Chili Sauce)
This chili cheeseburger on the griddle is made with a homemade chili sauce, and even a homemade chili seasoning. If you want awesome griddle burger ideas to make on your griddle or flat top grill, then try this homemade chili cheeseburger recipe!
I started out by smoking a chuck roast to grind up for my burger chili sauce, but you can definitely substitute browned 80/20 ground beef to make this recipe easier. It will be fantastic either way!
I personally like a thicker chili sauce for my hot dogs and burgers, more of like a condiment instead of a soupy soggy mess. If you want a thinner or looser chili sauce, then add more beef broth, beer, or water (or a combination of those), or don’t reduce the sauce as long.
Then, once your chili sauce is made, this chili cheeseburger cooks up like pretty much any other griddle burger. Just cook your seasoned burger patties on the griddle, maybe add in some sauteed diced onions if you want, and top your burger patties with a slice of American cheese.
Finish off your burgers with a good helping of the homemade chili sauce, some mustard, and raw diced onions, or add your favorite chili cheeseburger toppings.

Easy Chili Recipe in a Dutch Oven
You all have been asking for my easy chili recipe, so here it is! This easy beef and bean chili is made in a dutch oven on your stove top. Watch as I show you how to get maximum flavor out of simple ingredients.
Start by browning half of a diced onion in about 1 tablespoon of butter in your dutch oven. Wait until the onion is caramelized, then add about 1.5 pounds of ground beef. I used 85/15, but 80/20 would work also.
Brown the ground beef until cooked through... then here's the kicker... DON'T drain the fat. Allow the ground beef to continue to fry in its own fat for about 10 minutes, or until a deep dark color develops. Most of the fat will be incorporated back into the meat or evaporate out, giving your easy beef and bean chili even more flavor.
Once the beef is done, add your chili seasonings. I used one packet of Old El Paso Chili Seasoning, plus about 2 tablespoons of chili powder, 1 tablespoon of paprika, about 1/2 tablespoon of oregano, and a dash of seasoning salt. Mix together.
Then it's time to add your canned beans and tomatoes. I always use a ratio of 3 cans of beans to 2 cans of tomatoes. We like one can each of black beans, pinto beans, and kidney beans, and we add the entire can to the pot... juice and all. I also added some leftover canned diced green chiles that I had in my freezer.
My kids don't like chunks of tomatoes in their chili, so I blend up one can each of stewed tomatoes and diced chili-ready tomatoes until smooth. Then, add the tomatoes to the dutch oven and stir well.
If you like thick chili like we do, you can continue to cook your chili on medium low for about an hour, stirring frequently so it doesn't stick to the bottom of the pot. Then remove from the heat and allow to cool a few minutes.
Serve with your favorite chili toppings. We like Fritos corn chips, shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, and diced onion. Enjoy!

Chili Cheese Dogs on the Griddle
These chili cheese hotdogs on the griddle are made with an incredible beer cheese! If you want a fantastic backyard cookout recipe to make on your flat top grill, then try these easy chili cheese dogs!
The beer cheese dip is similar to the cheese fondue that you would get at The Melting Pot… with a garlic-y, cheese flavor with just a hint of beer… I highly suggest you have some soft pretzel bites on hand to dip also!
Start by making a rue in a saucepan on the griddle by combining 1 tablespoon of butter and 1 tablespoon of flour. Whisk that together and let it cook a few minutes, then add 1 tablespoon of minced garlic.
Let the garlic become fragrant, and then add 1/2 cup of heavy cream or half and half (we used half and half because that’s what we already had in the fridge). Then add a splash of soy sauce, a splash of Worcestershire sauce, and about 1 teaspoon of ground mustard.
Cook that down just a bit and then add in 3 cups of freshly shredded cheese. We used a mixture of medium and sharp cheddar and a bit of pepper jack. Let that cheese melt until you get a consistency you like, stirring often. If you need your beer cheese dip to be thicker, then add more cheese. If you want it to be thinner, then add more beer or heavy cream. We actually added in another cup of shredded cheddar (so 4 cups total).
When the cheese is almost done, add a bit of oil to your griddle and then cook your hot dots on the flat top until they’re heated through and the skin gets a little crispy.
Serve the beer cheese dip immediately to avoid it clumping up… if you need to, you can also reheat it so that it remelts again.
Hope you enjoy this easy chili cheese dog recipe on the Pit Boss, Blackstone, or Camp Chef flat top grill! And happy Memorial Day!
