How To make Flat Cat Cookies
Ingredients
20
ounces
refrigerated sugar cookie dough, (20 ounces)
2
tablespoons
1
cinnamon candies, red
1
strawberry jam, seedless
Directions:
Tools needed:
Rolling pin
butter knife
Spatula
Cookie sheet
Spoons
Wire cooling rack
With an adult's help, preheat oven to temperature specified on package of cookie dough.
Sprinkle the flour on a clean, flat surface and roll out the cookie dough to slightly thicker than what the package directions call for.
Using butter knife, cut out cookies in the shape of a flattened cat.
Use a large spatula to carefully transfer cookies to cookie sheet.
Bake according to package directions.
While they're cooling, count out enough cinnamon candies to put two eyes and a nose on each cat. Carefully flatten between the front and bakdof two spoons and set aside.
Allow the cookies to cool on the cookie sheet for about 3 minutes and then press in eyes and nose. Transfer to wire rack to continue cooling.
Dribble jam here and there on each cookie for blood. Makes approximately 3 dozen kitty road kill.
Sicko serving suggestion: Instead of making each cookie in a perfect cat shape, make a few that are missing a limb and/or tail. Why not even sever a head or two?
Drip jam blood at stumps for an authentically dismembered look?

These beautiful Linzer Cookies (also sometimes called Jam Sandwich Cookies) have such a delicate texture, mostly due to the addition of ground almonds. I like to fill mine with apricot or raspberry jam, but you can fill them with your favourite flavour! Jam is traditional, but you could add Nutella, speculoos, peanut butter or lemon curd!

If you've ever checked into a Doubletree Hotel you know about the delicious warm chocolate chip cookies - and this is a copycat recipe that's actually BETTER - and you get to make them AT HOME whenever you want!

INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup old fashioned oats
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup unsalted butter melted
3/4 cup brown sugar packed
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
2 large eggs
3 cups chocolate chips use your favorite kind
1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts
INSTRUCTIONS
Place oats in a small food processor or blender and grind until they turn powdery. Place them in a medium sized bowl and whisk in the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Set aside.
Stir together melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth. (No mixer needed - just use a wooden spoon or spatula!) Stir in vanilla, lemon juice, and eggs. Stir until smooth, then stir in flour mixture. Mixture may be slightly lumpy because of the ground oats. Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts.
Line a cookie sheet with wax or parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Scoop 1/4 cupfuls of the dough into balls and place on the cookie sheet. You do not need to space them; this is just for chilling. Cover well with plastic wrap and chill at least 4 hours or overnight before baking.
Preheat oven to 350°F. Place cookies well spaced on cookie sheets lined with parchment paper or silicone baking mats. Slightly depress each ball with the palm of your hand.
Bake for 13-17 minutes. Do not over bake - these are best a bit under done.

White dough:
130g butter mix
110g cake flour [1 cup]
22g almond flour [3 ¾ tbsp]
Black dough:
130g butter mix
113g cake flour [1 cup]
16g almond flour [2 ¾ tbsp]
15g black cocoa powder [2 tbsp]
