1 lb RAW PRAWNS OR SHRIMP 4 T SWEET BUTTER 2 T MINCED SHALLOTS 1 ea CLOVE GARLIC, MINCED 1/3 c brUT CHAMPAGNE 2 t FRESH LEMON JUICE 1 T CALVERT'S CEDAR StrEET DILL Shell and devein prawns. Melt butter in saute pan over medium high heat. Add shallots and garlic and saute 1 minute. Add prawns and saute quickly until just pink. Stir in champagne, lemon juice, and mustard, and simmer 3 minutes. Serve over a bed of hot rice or pasta. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley.

Recreating Gangster Carmine Galante's Last Meal of Stuffed Clams | The Last Supper
Carmine Galante’s Last Meal is the focus for this week’s episode on The Last Supper. The Cigar, as he was known on the streets, dined out on Stuffed Clams, Linguine with a White Clam Sauce and Escarole in Brodo at Joe & Mary’s restaurant in Brooklyn, before being brutally assassinated.
Carmine Galante’s last meal was barely finished before 3 masked gunmen walked into the restaurant and murdered the Cigar and his 2 bodyguards. The Bonanno acting boss reportedly still had his omnipresent cigar clenched between his lips when the police arrived at the scene.
If recreating this one at home, as always I have a few tips. Make sure that you thoroughly soak and scrub the clams to avoid and grit as this will really ruin the meal. Clams rarely have grit inside the shell bit if you can see a slight opening do not be scared to clean and scrub. If any clams don't open during the cooking process do discard, as they can make you ill if they are already dead when cooked, which is what not opening whilst cooking is an indicator of. Finally, if any clams are cracked or broken, be on the safe side and discard as well.
