4 ounces German chocolate squares 2 cups sugar 3 cups flour -- sifted with 1/2 teaspoon soda and 1/4 teaspoon salt 2 teaspoons vanilla 2 sticks butter 4 eggs 1 cup buttermilk Partially melt chocolate over hot water. Remove and stir rapidly until entirel y melted. Cool. Cream sugar and oleo. Add eggs, vanilla and buttermilk. Th en flour mixture. Stir in chocolate until blended. Bake at 300-325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours in greased and floured bundt pan. Remo ve from pan and place under tight cover until thoroughly cold.

Happy Holidays! This week I'm bringing you all the way to Florida to share a special family tradition, making German Pound cake with my dad. This recipe is not just delicious but very special in my family. I hope you enjoy it with yours!
Ingredients and directions: 3 cups flour sifted dash of salt 1 tsp baking powder 2 sticks of butter 1 cup lukewarm milk 1 cup sugar 1 lemon 2 eggs 1/2 cup almonds 1/2 cup raisins
Preheat oven to 375 degrees
Using a large pot on the stove top, melt the butter slowly on medium to low head, do not brown. Turn off heat and add sugar, stir until dissolved Add raisins and almonds Add grated lemon peel and juice Add eggs, stir well Add 1/2 bowl of sifted flour wit salt and baking powder Add milk Add remaining flower mixture
Butter and flour a bundt round cake pan All batter Bake in oven at 375 degrees for one hour
