Ingredients 5 cup water 1 1/2 cup beans, great northern 1 cup wheat berries 6 each potatoes, cut in half 1 each onion, sliced 4 each garlic, cloves, minced 5 teaspoon cumin, ground 3 teaspoon tumeric 1/2 teaspoon pepper
Directions: Mix together all ingredients in crockpot. Cook at high 8 to 10 hours.

Mushroom & Wheat Berry Pilaf
2 c cooked wheat berries 1 1/2 c chopped onions 5 cloves minced garlic 1 T butter 1 lb sliced mushrooms 1T soy sauce 1/4 c red wine* 1/4 c chicken broth 1/2 tsp chopped thyme 1/2 tsp rosemary salt and pepper to taste
*you can also eliminate the wine and increase the chicken broth to 1/2 cup total
This wheat berry stir fry was my first time working with wheat berries from scratch and making a healthy organic dinner with this ingredient. I really liked their taste and consistency and what they added to the recipe. They are cheap enough and have nice macros and taste. I would for sure use them again in my recipes.
