How To make Jeweled Walnut Cookies
2 Eggs
1 c Sugar
1/2 ts Salt
1 ts Vanilla
1 c Flour
3/4 c Small, spiced gumdrops,
Halved, divided 3/4 c Walnuts, chopped, divided
1. Preheat oven to 325 F. 2. In large bowl beat together eggs, sugar,
salt and vanilla. 3. Stir in flour. 4. Mix in 1/2 cup of the gumdrops and 1/2 cup of the walnuts. 5. Turn onto greased 9 " square baking pan. 6. Sprinkle with remaining gumdrops and walnuts. 7. Bake for about 35 minutes, or until top has a firm, dull crust. Cool in pan. 8. Cut into 24 bars. Typed by Brigitte Sealing -----

How to make real Divinity. This is not like cheap store bought Divinity. This is a hundred year old recipe with a heavenly taste that words just can't describe!
Real Divinity is difficult to make, but well worth the effort. This video is long and detailed, but I wanted to make sure your time wasn't wasted with a candy that didn't turn out right.
Just follow these step by step instructions to the letter and your Divinity will be divine :)
Ingredients:
Pot #1
1 cup - Sugar
1/2 cup - Water
1/8 teaspoon - Cream of tartar
Pot #2
2 cups - Sugar
2/3 cup - White corn syrup
1/4 teaspoon - Salt
1/4 cup - Water
Uncooked Ingredients:
3 - Egg whites
1 teaspoon - Real vanilla
1 cup - Finely chopped nuts. (I used pecans)

Ingredients:
4 cups sugar
1 cup white corn syrup
3/4 cup cold water
3 egg whites
1 teaspoon pure vanilla
Not required: 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts ( Mix into candy or sprinkle on top)

Tips!
- If using thermometer, cook syrup mixture until it hits 250 degrees F on the candy thermometer.
- Beat eggs and syrup mix together until it loses its gloss and can hold it's shape.

Ingredients:
1 cup mixed glazed fruits, chopped
½ cup dried apricots, chopped
½ cup dried cranberries
½ cup dark raisins
½ cup candied orange peel
1 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped
½ cup golden raisins
1 cup pecans
1 cup pitted dates
½ cup green candied cherries
½ cup red candied cherries
¾ cup rhum
1 ½ cup all purpose flour
1 tsp cinnamon
½ tsp allspice
½ tsp nutmeg
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
½ cup (113g) softened butter, unsalted
1 cup packed brown sugar
3 eggs, medium
⅓ cup molasses
2 tablespoons rhum
*Divide evenly into three 6x3x2.5 loaf pans greased and lined
*Bake in a preheated oven at 165C for 1 hr 30 mins or until toothpick inserted at the center comes out clean (you can opt to bake them using baine marie method for even cooking and prevent the cake from drying out or just bake them longer at lower temperature)
*Cool completely and brush all over with rhum or brandy
*Wrap them individually in aluminum foil and refrigerate. Avoid touching with bare hands to prevent spoilage
*Brush them again with rhum after a week then repeat brushing for four weeks
*To make a chocolate fruit cake, replace 1/2 cup of flour with alkalized unsweetened cocoa powder
