How to make Surinamese Fried Rice/Nasi Goreng with Chicken/Nasi Goreng met Kip
To make this delicious meal you will need:
Chicken Marinate for 5 lbs of chicken
1 tsp black pepper
1tsp garlic powder
1tsp onion powder
1oz galangal root(1tsp of powdered)
1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
1tablespoon sweet soy sauce
3 whole all spice
To cook the chicken:
1 medium onion
1oz galangal root(1/2 tsp of powered)
2 Indonesian bay leaves
tiny piece of aromatic ginger
2 Maggie bouillon cubes
1/4 cup chopped scallions
1/4 cup of cilantr0
Additional 1 tbs of dark soy and sweet soy depending on choice of color and taste.
For the Nasi Goreng/ Fried Rice
3 cups of rice cooked and cooled.( Jasmine, white rice or Basmati)
1/2 lbs of chicken breast(boiled and shredded)
2 eggs (Fried and cut into small pieces)
2 tablespoon dark soy sauce
2tablespoon sweet soy sauce
1medium onion chopped
5 cloves garlic crushed
1 small shallot chopped
1/4 cup chopped scallions
1/4 cup chopped cilantro
2 Maggie bouillon cubes
1tsp black pepper
3 whole all spice
1 once of galangal root
2 Indonesian bay leaves
1/2 tsp of shrimp paste (optional)

900 g (nearly 2 lb) of Cooked and Cooled Rice
4 tbsp vegetable oil
2 shallots or 1 small onion - peeled and thinly sliced
2 tsp cornflour/cornstarch
¼ tsp salt
1 tsp shrimp paste
2 cloves garlic - peeled and minced
1 red chilli - chopped finely
1 tsp fish sauce
1 heaped tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp tamarind
1 tbsp tomato puree/paste
2 tbsp dark soy sauce
5 spring onions - scallions chopped
5 eggs

Nasi goreng with chicken, egg and prawn cracker
Nasi goreng, literally meaning fried rice in Indonesian and Malay, can refer simply to fried pre-cooked rice, a meal including stir fried rice in small amount of cooking oil or margarine, typically spiced with kecap manis (sweet soy sauce), shallot, garlic, ground shrimp paste, tamarind and chilli and accompanied by other ingredients, particularly egg, chicken and prawns. There is also another kind of nasi goreng which is made with ikan asin (salted dried fish) which is also popular across Indonesia. Nasi goreng is sometimes described as Indonesian stir-fried rice,[3] although it is also popular in Malaysia, Singapore and the Netherlands. It is distinguished from other Asian fried rice recipes by its aromatic, earthy and smoky flavor; owed to generous amount of caramelized sweet soy sauce and powdered shrimp paste, and the taste is stronger and spicier compared to Chinese fried rice.
Nasi goreng has been called the national dish of Indonesia, though there are many other contenders. It can be enjoyed in simple versions from a tin plate at a roadside food stall, eaten on porcelain in restaurants, or collected from the buffet tables of Jakarta dinner parties.
Nasi goreng is distinguished from other Asian fried rice recipes by its aromatic, earthy and smoky flavour; owed to generous amount of caramelized kecap manis (sweet soy sauce) and ground powdered terasi (shrimp paste), and the taste is stronger and spicier compared to Chinese fried rice. Nasi goreng often includes krupuk and bawang goreng (fried shallots) or (fried onions) to give a crispier texture.
The main ingredients of nasi goreng include pre-cooked rice, sweet soy sauce, powdered shrimp paste, salt, garlic, shallot, chilli pepper, spring onions, nutmeg, turmeric, vegetable oil, onions, palm sugar, ginger garlic paste, and slices of cucumber and tomato for garnishing. Some recipes may add black pepper, terasi (shrimp paste), fish sauce, or powdered broth as a seasoning and taste enhancer. Eggs might be mixed into fried rice or fried separately, either as telur ceplok/telur mata sapi (sunny side up eggs), or telur dadar (omelette), and also telur rebus (boiled eggs). Originally optional, the addition of fried egg is often named as nasi goreng spesial (pakai telur) or special fried rice topped with fried egg.
How To Make Nasi Goreng At Home
Ingredients:
Sweet Soy Sauce
¼ cup soy sauce
4 tbsp brown sugar
Nasi Goreng
2 tbsp cooking oil
2 tbsp chopped onion
2 garlic cloves
2-3 red chili
100-gm boneless chicken
1 tbsp sweet soy sauce
1 egg
1 ½ tsp balachaw paste
1 ½ cup cooked rice
¼ tsp turmeric
1 tsp soy sauce
½ tsp pepper
Garnish
1 tsp fried onions
1 egg
Instructions:
1. Simmer soy sauce with brown sugar on low heat until it thickens
2. Set aside the sweet soy sauce to use for later
3. Add cooking oil along with chopped onion, garlic cloves, and red chili in pan
4. Stir for 1-2 minutes
5. Add bite size chicken pieces and sweet soy sauce
6. Stir in whisked egg
7. Add balachaw paste and cooked rice
8. Add turmeric, soy sauce, salt and pepper to taste
9. Garnish with a fried onion and a sunny side up before serving
10. Ready to Enjoy!
