1/2 c Shortening
1 1/4 c Granulated Sugar
2 ea Eggs; Large
1/2 c Applesauce
2 oz Unsweetened Chocolate; *
1 t Vanilla
1 c Flour; Unbleached
1 t Baking Powder
1/2 t Salt
1/2 t Cinnamon; Ground
1/2 c Walnuts; Chopped
GLAZE:
3/4 c Powdered Sugar; Sifted
1/8 t Cinnamon; Ground
1 x Milk
* Chocolate should be melted and cooled. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Cream shortening and granulated sugar; beat in eggs. Blend in applesauce, chocolate, and vanilla. Stir together flour, baking powder, salt and 1/2 t cinnamon; stir into creamed mixture. Mix in chopped walnuts. Spread in greased 13 X 9 X 2-inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 25 minutes. Combine powdered sugar, 1/8 t cinnamon, and enough milk ( about 4 t) til of drizzling consistency. Drizzle over slightly warm brownies. Cool; cut into bars. Makes 36 brownies.

Spicy Applesauce Brownies:
1/2 C shortening

Carrot Cookies:
2 C diced, peeled carrots
3/4 C butter or margarine, softened
1 C sugar
1 egg
1 t vanilla
2 C all-purpose flour
2 t baking powder
1/2 t salt
Cook carrots in small amount of boiling salted water till tender; drain and mash. (Should measure about 1 C). Cool. Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and vanilla; beat till fluffy. Stir in mashed carrots. Stir together flour, baking powder, and salt; blend into batter. Drop from teaspoon on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 about 12 minutes. Cool; spread with frosting. Makes about 5 dozen.

It's really full of chocolate flavor, chewy and moist
➤ Ingredients [19x19cm (7.5 inch) square pan]
- 200g dark chocolate
- 110g (1/2cup) unsalted butter
- 3 eggs
- 150g (3/4cup) granulated sugar
- 50g (1/4cup) dark brown sugar
- 65g (1/2cup) all-purpose flour
- 25g (1/4cup) cocoa powder(unsweetened)
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
➤ Tips
1. Bake after preheating the oven
2. You can replace granulated sugar and dark brown sugar with light brown sugar
3. If it's too sweet for you, you can use 20g less sugar
4. I took it out of the oven and tapped it after 20 minutes to make the crack
5. It tastes better when you use good quality dark chocolate and cocoa powder
6. It tastes better if you put it in an airtight container or wrap it in plastic wrap and refrigerate it
