Directions:
In a bowl, mix beef, salt and tumeric. Heat oil in a pot on medium. Add onion, garlic and ginger and sautee 3 minutes. Add the beef mix and spices and sautee 5 minutes. Add the water, cover and simmer until the beef is tender. Add potatoes and simmer another 20 min.

*Ingredients **steps:
*1 kg beef
Do the following for marination
*1/2 tsp turmeric powder
*1 tsp salt
*a few curry leaves
*1 tbsp yoghurt
*1 tsp chilli powder
**mix well
**keep aside for 30 minutes
**to a hot pan, add some coconut oil
*1 tsp cumin seeds
*1 tsp fennel seeds
*3-4 green chilliies
*a few curry leaves
*add grind/crushed paste (ginger & garlic as shown in video)
*2-3 onion chopped
**saute until brown
*add some salt
*1/2 tsp turmeric powder
*3 tsp chilli powder
*4 tsp coriander powder
*1 tsp garam masala
*1/2 tsp pepper powder
*saute for 1 minute until raw smell fades
*add some water
**saute until oil oozes out
*add 1 tomato chopped
**cover and cook until tomatoes are soft
**add the marinated beef
**mix well
**cover and cook for 20 minutes in medium heat stirring occationally
**cover and cook for 10 minutes in low heat
*add 2 chopped potatoes
*add some water
*salt as required
*1 cup coconut milk
*cover and cook for 7-8 minutes in low heat
**if requried, add some more water for more gravy
*1/2 tsp pepper powder
*1/2 tsp garam masala
*cook for 1 more minute
*turn off the heat
*garnish with coriander and curry leaves
*add 1/2 tsp coconut oil

Ingredients for Aloo Mutton Curry:
- Mutton, with bones- 500 gms
- Onion, sliced- 2 small (total 100 gms)
- Fried onions crushed- 1 medium onion
- Ginger garlic paste- 2.5 tsp
- Tomatoes, chopped- 2 small (total 100 gms)
- Potatoes peeled and halved- 4 medium
- Green chillies, slit- 2
- Curd/yogurt, whisked- 2 tbsp
Whole garam masala/spices for tempering:
- Cumin seeds/Jeera- 1/2 tsp
- Green cardamom- 4
- Cloves- 4
- Cinnamon- 1 inch piece
- Black cardamom- 1
- Black peppercorns- 10-15
- Bay leaf-2
- Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
- Red Chilli powder- 1.5 tsp
- Coriander powder- 3.5 tsp
- Garam masala powder- 1/2 tsp
- Salt - 1 tsp + 1/4 tsp seasoning at the end
- Oil- 3 tbsp
Preparation:
- Slice a medium sized onion and fry it till golden. Remove from oil & allow it to cool. Crush it with your hands or rough grind it in a blender/grinder.
- Also slice 2 small onions and set aside.
- Chop 2 tomatoes, peel and halve 4 medium sized potatoes. Keep in a bowl of water to prevent it from turning brown.
- Slit 2 green chillies.
Process:
- Heat oil in a kadai or pan and add the whole spices.
- Give a stir and add the sliced onions.
- Fry the onions for 5-6 mins on medium heat till they are translucent.
- Now add the mutton and fry it for 2 minutes on medium heat.
- Add the ginger garlic paste, mix it well to coat the mutton and fry for 3-4 mins on medium heat.
- Add all the spice powders (other than garam masala powder) and 1 tsp salt. Mix well and bhunno/ fry on medium to low heat for 10-12 mins.
- Now add chopped tomatoes, mix and fry on low heat until tomatoes are soft and mushy. This should take around 6-7 mins.
- Add the whisked curd/yogurt, crushed onions & green chillies and mix well. Continue to cook on low heat for 5 mins till oil separates.
- Now add the potato halves, mix and fry for 2 mins.
- Add 200 ml water, mix and add 1/2 tsp garam masala powder.
- Transfer to a pressure cooker and add more water to cover the meat and potatoes.
- Close the lid and cook till 3 whistles (on high heat till 1st whistle and turn it to low heat after 1st whistle).
- Serve with rice or roti

How to make Spicy Beef Curry with Potato| Kerala Style Beef Curry Recipe
Ingredients
Beef – 1 kg
Potato- 2 no
Onion –One medium sized onion cut in to slices
Shallots – 12 to 15 no cut in to thin slices
Tomato – 2 no
Green Chili – 3 no
Crushed Garlic- 2tbs
Crushed Ginger – 2tbs
Curry leaves
Coriander Leaves
Red Chili Powder – 2tbs
Coriander Powder – 2tbs
Black pepper powder – 2tbs
Turmeric Powder – 2 tsp
Garam Masala – 2tsp
Salt to taste
Oil – 4 tbs
Method of preparation
In to the pan add 4 tbs oil. Add sliced onion, shallots. Curry leaves and Green Chilies. Sauté until onions are translucent .
Add crushed garlic and ginger
Reduce the flame and add all the dry spices such as red chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala and black pepper powder.
Add beef in the masala mix well
Add Tomato’s and salt .Let beef cook for 10 minutes on medium heat until water oozes out from the beef
After 10 minutes of cooking Add 2 cup of water and cook until beef is 90% done
At this point add potato and cook until the potatoes are done
Add finely chopped coriander leaves.

Potato and Meat Curry
Ingredients:
Cooked stew meat about 2 Ib or as you like
1-2 cup meat broth from cooking the meat
1 cup chopped onions
2-3 Tbsp tomato paste
2-3 teaspoon curry powder
1/4 teaspoon hot red pepper optional
4 large potatoes cut into large cubes
1/4 cup oil
Boiling water depends how much soupy or thick you like your stew
steps-
-Cook stew meat with water and salt only for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until tender. Keep the broth aside.
-In a medium pot heat oil then add chopped onion and cook for afew minutes until it becomes slightly brown.
- Add potato cubes and let them fry for a few minutes.
-Add cooked meat and mix all together for a few minutes.
-Add all the spices and salt and mix for a few minutes then add the meat broth and the boiling water then cover and bring to boil. (if you like your stew to be thick then don't add a lot of liquid )
-Add tomato paste once the liquid comes to boil and mix well then cover and cook over low-medium heat.
-Check for the salt and spices.
- Make sure to stir gently from time to time.
-When the potato is fork tender and the liquid is thick then the stew is ready. The stew will thicken as it sits.
-Leave the stew for about 15-30 minutes before serving time so all the flavor develop richer.
-Serve with white rice or white rice cooked with vermicelli link below.
